Here on local South Florida local sports they announced a
deal in the works with Dallas for their 22nd, a 3rd and Barber.
The 28th atleast in this wasn't involved.Just putting it out there
the talk in Florida.

Why.........?

We are a passing team. Barber is a great compliment to that....we spread teams out and Barber's punishing running style vs a team in the nickle/dime is truly an advantage to us.

Get a complimentary back....not give up a 1st and a 3rd and a player for what may end up an upgrade at the RB position.

giving up that 3rd is too much imho. i could live with barber and the 22nd but we better pick up a corner in free agency.

I here ya.My son won't even listen to this when we were
at the gym. This kid worked his tail off and they want to trade
him?The one thing Barber has that the team needs to have more
of,is heart.

Not saying I am for the proposed move or rumored move but McFadden's style fits perfectly into what Dallas wants to do on offense. So does Felix Jones or Chris Johnson or Steve Slaton for that matter. A quick strike back who can score anytime he touches the ball would fit nicely here as well.

I just wonder how many of these rumors are Miami trying to drum up some interest so they can trade out of the 1st overall pick . . . .

Come on, we all know Miami most likely isn't going to pick DMac 1st overall, and we know that BP craves multiple picks.

Unfortunately, I think there is a good chance that BP gets stuck with the first overall pick and has to dish out around $30mm in guaranteed money - or whatever the number has now escalated to.

It's interesting that all of the trade talk is generating out of Miami and not out of Dallas. Seems like Jerry might have the upper-hand in negotiations (Bill wants out of the #1 more than Jerry wants D-Mac) and should give up the least possible.

I disagree wholeheartedly and here is why. #1 Marion Barber is going to cost us big $$$ in order for us to sign long term. IMO ( and i know barber had a GREAT game vs the giants) I still do not think Marion Barber is feature back (lack of explosion/ homerun threat bothers me a bit)

I also think if I had to pick 1 player and to pay them roughly equally I wouldnt even think twice and would take Dmac over barber every day of the week and twice on sundays.

However, with all that being said - I am not willing to give the up our entire draft for mcfadden. If you ask me the 22nd pick barber and a 3rd for #1 overall is a STEAL for us and I would do it without thinking twice.

Another poster brought up a great point and mentioned he wondered how long barber could last with his punishing running style. Lastly and very importantly if Barber for whatever reason does not pan out to being a franchise back RIGHT now his trade value is about as high as it is going to get.

Yep. I would even go this far and say Barber & the 22nd is to much. A good deal to me would be our 28th + Barber + a fifth or sixth round pick.

Then all the way down to pick up Felix Jones. In doing so pick up two firsts ;)

So we get our Rb and have 2 more first round picks to get a CB and a WR.

That's my wish for April

Along with a player that has the heart of a lion, the balls of an elephant and the desire to punish! That would be MBIII...

If the Cowboys do trade MBIII I would be like, "WTH...."!

Exactly.

It's BP who needs the multiple picks.

Jerry already has them in the 1st round.

Exactly. There are no takers for this pick. They are panicked that they are going to have to give a very good player, but not #1 like DE Long 30 mill.

It's too bad for Miami that this draft doesn't have that "premire" QB like Aikman, for example, that teams would pay 1st overall money for.

I love McFadden and very much would like him to be a Cowboy.

Having said that if Miami called (they would not) and offered the #1 pick overall for Barber, I still would not do it.

This team needs Barbers' intensity. This team needs Barber. As much as I like McFadden, Barber is a proven commodity and McFadden is not.

Great point.

Right now i am not sold on Barber as an everydown back. As the season went on you could sense that Barber went a bit away from his punishing running style. I think he noticed he couldn't do it over a whole season. And remember he only got half the carries!

as glory alreeady mentioned the trade value for Barber is really high atm. So why not take the good value and bolster our team at other positions for the future ? We could get 2 first for miami's #1 and end the first round with 3 picks (or 2 in 2009).

You should know by now not to put anything past Jerry. This is just another day at the office for him.

I think if we have a capable back-up for MBIII, we'll be just fine.

And you can get a capable back-up in rounds 2, 3, and maybe even in 4 in this draft class - not to even mention FA.
