would not suprise me one bit, Jerry loves to break big news the week of the Superbowl. as for the trade, i could deal with our #22, Barber, and a 3rd, i think we make out better as far as value, i wish we could send them Carp instead of the 3rd, but thats just me.

Here on local South Florida local sports they announced a
deal in the works with Dallas for their 22nd, a 3rd and Barber.
The 28th atleast in this wasn't involved.Just putting it out there
the talk in Florida.

Based on the trade value charts, that makes Barber worth between the 3rd and 4th OVERALL pick in the draft.

3000 for Dolphins 1st (1 overall)

for

780 points for Dallas 1st (via Cleveland) (22nd overall)
132 points for Dallas 3rd (92nd overall)
2088 points for Marion Barber

I know the trade value charts aren't perfect by any means, but it gives you an idea of how valuable Barber would be to other teams. Where's the sense in trading a RB that valuable for a RB whos going to be the #1 pick? Also, it means we need to resign Barber, not just tender him, because he could end up going to a team like Seattle and then we'd end up with the 25th overall pick and the 89th overall pick, basically worth 890 points. Bottomline, resign the guy and draft a complimentary back.

You know, I think there is a lot more to this equation than just simply trading Barber or not and you kind of sum up what I am thinking.

Not only is Barber a producer on the field but he is also a fan favorite.

Kenny Gant was a fan favorite too, but trading/dropping/letting go of him is not that big of a deal due to production.

Barber is a favorite and he produces. Got to keep him. I bet dollars to donuts he is a Cowboy for many more years to come.

Guys, we don't need anything more than guts and heart. Barber has enough of those to almost cover the whole team.

If we trade him, we will be giving up way too much. I wouldn't trade him straight up for the #1 pick.

That trade would suck for Miami
Based purely on the draft value chart, yes. Based on reality, not so much.

Along with a player that has the heart of a lion, the balls of an elephant and the desire to punish! That would be MBIII...

Yes he lacks home run speed but whatever he lacks there he makes up with blocking and a punishing running style to trade him and give away our draft is ludichrist, I would change my name to IHATEJERRY!!!!

Aside from being a leader in the locker room because of the way he plays the game he´s got a huge HEART, and not many players in football can say it, that´s got to be worth something.

If the Cowboys do trade MBIII I would be like, "WTH...."!

buy low sell high

barion is a pro bowler he will never have this high of a trade value as he does now

he cannot carry a team and isn't a pro bowl quality back

A few years ago Roy Williams name was thrown around in trade talks and I could not help but think there was no way Dallas could trade the face of the franchise. He just seemed like he was the Dallas Cowboys. It also made me furious thinking about it. No deal was good enough. (If we only knew then what we know now)

With that said, I'm feeling the exact same way about Barber at this moment. I'll be one hot mother (you know what) if Jerry pulls this BS.

You got that right!

Why would Jerry give the Tuna a proven running back?

Now, if Jerry can pull off a Herchel Walker type trade... See ya, MBIII...nice to have known you!

This, to me, is a bad, bad thing. Miami doesn't need a RB. St. Louis does not need a RB. Atlanta could probably use a RB but do they need a RB more then they need a QB? I don't know. Everybody thinks that Oakland will take McFadden but in truth, they have Fargas, Rhodes and Jordan. Now, you can make the point that they don't like Jordan or what have you but honestly, the problem in Oakland is not the RBs. The problem in Oakland is the OL. Kansas City doesn't need a RB. Even if they do, they can't afford one. Honestly, the Jets are really the first team that I honestly think might take McFadden. Why trade up with Miami for a RB? I don't get that.
