deal in the works with Dallas for their 22nd, a 3rd and Barber.
The 28th atleast in this wasn't involved.Just putting it out there
the talk in Florida.

masomenos85;1930656 said:Based on the trade value charts, that makes Barber worth between the 3rd and 4th OVERALL pick in the draft.
3000 for Dolphins 1st (1 overall)
for
780 points for Dallas 1st (via Cleveland) (22nd overall)
132 points for Dallas 3rd (92nd overall)
2088 points for Marion Barber
I know the trade value charts aren't perfect by any means, but it gives you an idea of how valuable Barber would be to other teams. Where's the sense in trading a RB that valuable for a RB whos going to be the #1 pick? Also, it means we need to resign Barber, not just tender him, because he could end up going to a team like Seattle and then we'd end up with the 25th overall pick and the 89th overall pick, basically worth 890 points. Bottomline, resign the guy and draft a complimentary back.
Based purely on the draft value chart, yes. Based on reality, not so much.abersonc;1930645 said:That trade would suck for Miami

Yes he lacks home run speed but whatever he lacks there he makes up with blocking and a punishing running style to trade him and give away our draft is ludichrist, I would change my name to IHATEJERRY!!!!
gbrittain;1930658 said:You know, I think there is a lot more to this equation than just simply trading Barber or not and you kind of sum up what I am thinking.
Not only is Barber a producer on the field but he is also a fan favorite.
Kenny Gant was a fan favorite too, but trading/dropping/letting go of him is not that big of a deal due to production.
Barber is a favorite and he produces. Got to keep him. I bet dollars to donuts he is a Cowboy for many more years to come.

If the Cowboys do trade MBIII I would be like, "WTH...."!

barion is a pro bowler he will never have this high of a trade value as he does now
he cannot carry a team and isn't a pro bowl quality back
