If the trade is going to happen, it won't happen anytime soon.

DMac could blow out a knee, get in trouble or just plain disappear between now and the draft.

Nobody knows whats going to happen and it would be a true sign of disaster if Jerry made this trade 3 months ahead of time.

Im against the trade beacuse I think staying put serves more then getting DMac.

If the trade happens, at the earliest you would hear would be around the week leading up to the draft. Any sooner is just a poor decision on Jerrys part.

Barber is now the most over-rated player on the Cowboys. Geez guys he's good but he is not anywhere near the talent of an Emmitt Smith or Tony Dorsett. McFadden, while an unproven rookie is thought to be in that kind of class.

Over-rated is a little harsh dont you think? why would you call him overrated, everytime he plays he produces. I know he isnt a TD or ES but come on Dmac hasnt done a thing yet. To trade 2 draft picks and a proven RB is lot to give up.Dont you agree?

In 1977, theCowboys gave up the #14 overall and three second round picks for the #2 overall and the rights to draft Tony Dorsett.

They were also 1 player away from a superbowl Tony was that missing piece.

They better not trade MBIII and I'm a converted Julius Jones supporter saying this... This guy doesn't have all the break away speed but he's tough and still can break 30 and 40 yard runs.

That was in 1977 when teams didn't value the draft as much as they do today. Besides, the Cowboys were on the cutting edge back then and took advantage of the young, lowly Seahawks.

This is correct. You can't compare the drafts of then to now. No Salary Cap, no FA, 12 round draft and teams were built and stayed together. Teams were able to build depth and keep it on the roster. For a good team, like say the Cowboys, you could afford to spend a significant amount of draft picks on a single player because chances are that who ever you drafted would not make the team anyway, including second round picks.

It was very different then.

If you ask me the 22nd pick barber and a 3rd for #1 overall is a STEAL for us and I would do it without thinking twice.

Really ?

How does the 22nd pick, a 3rd round pick, Marion Barber AND a 30 million dollars signing bonus sound to you ?

Marion is going to get paid, but he will NOT get a 30 million dollars signing bonus, and the Cowboys get to keep the two picks on top of that.

McFadden might be a good player, I don't doubt his ability, but he's not worth that price.

i stand on the middle on this. on one hand i love mcfadden and think he is gonna have an Adrian peterson type impact next season but on other hand barber is the heart of this team and i love his running style! ah hopefully Jerry is able to find a way to get Mcfadden without giving up barber! miami already has ronnie brown and maybe ricky williams haha yea i said ricky...

I cant believe we are actually seriously considering this fellas.

We are going to trade a probowl RB, Clevland's first rounder, and pitch in our 3rd for a rookie RB that is going to get Romo type money with at least $30 mill guarnteed?

What ****** would actually consider making this trade? Seriously, you would not even make this trade on Madden:mad:

Sadly it appears that some people would make this trade even on Madden.

Why.........?

We are a passing team.

McFadden can catch out of the backfield, and he can also throw the ball.

Felix Jones, Chris Johnson, and Steve Slaton can catch the ball out of the backfield as well and we could get them a LOT cheaper than this.

As far as being able to throw the ball...who cares?

Tony Romo passing or DMac on a trick play? Hmmm...I think I'm going with my QB.
