Thats great
I foresee Michael (if active) and Butler each making a big play in this game. If Michael plays, I see him busting a short yardage, 8 in the box, run for a long gain. And I see Weeden taking a deep shot to Butler for a score. Just a gut feeling, but I think this week, Linehan is trying to scheme to make sure what happened in the second half last week (Defense compressing the LOS because no deep passes) does not happen again. Butler will be 1-on-1 all game. And NO is not physical enough in their front 7 to stop a more physical back like Michael.
People are hyping a guy that was about to get cut. A bunch of people are talking about him like he's some sure thing stud lying in wait. Some ace in the hole. Its ridiculous plain and simple and extremely unreasonable to expect that.

Weeden had Witten for a long gainer/potential TD but checked down to RB. Witt had at least 2-3 yards on his cover man with no backup close. Saw this I think in Strums analysis, there is a video
Butler is more likely to be active.
Do you think this ends the Street project with Butler being able to stretch the field? At first glance I thought he was a Twill evolutionary chip, difficult for me to judge him without more tape and throws going his way to see his fight for the ball.
Street always was a project coming out of college and required precision throws in order to flourish.
Weeden just does not see the other game within the game which makes him limited in the use of the WR/TE's( Dez coming back will matter little.)
Clearly our Virtual reality programming/training needs some improvement as this would make a perfect venue to showcase its value in reading defenses correctly and finding the pending open receiver. IMO Weeden is not on the team next year and the boys will invest in another talent.
So what is it then? Is the FO filled with semi-geniuses for getting a 2nd rounder back who is greater than anything we could have drafted for a conditional 7th or is CM a bum who we grabbed off the scrap heap in a desperation move?
The bottom line is he needs to be out there and playing. McFadden and Randle pretty much have showed what they are. They can bust off big runs when giving decent blocking, but when teams dedicate themselves to stopping the run, all of that disappears and we end up not getting 3rd downs, which completely changes our offense.
I wish we would of picked up Michael Vick instead of Weeden smh. Weeden has and will always suck. He is who he is.
With Weeden as the QB they have to be certain that the RB knows the playbook. If he is well versed in the scheme then give him a few carries but if not then just keep him inactive for now.
One thing is for certain. If he is good the cult of Michael will go nuts. If he is not good they will blame the OL.

Street looked really good on some catches in the preseason before he injured his ankle. His catch radius seemed fine and his speed looked good.
Right now his ankle is a problem. They should just make him inactive until his ankle is 100%. They do like to get him in on running downs because he really is a terrific blocker.
Butler has to show that he can catch the ball consistently. Just running past people won't do much good if he can't catch when the ball comes to him. I think he can based on his college game footage but it's hard to know. They've had other WRs that looked great in college but just couldn't catch the ball consistently in the NFL.
The problem with virtual reality is that the QB is not going to get hit if he holds on to the ball. Weeden does not want to get hit.
People just wanna see how Michael can do.
After some of the holes that Randle continues to miss I wouldn't mind it. Whether it's DMC or Randle who gets bumped down I mean really doesn't matter. Neither are probably lead backs. Both complimentary.
Personally..
I want to see more McFadden.
He was busting into the second level in the 2nd qt. and poof..
nothing.
Never saw him the whole 2nd half.
I want to see DMac get about 15-20 carries in a game and see what he has before I get excited about Michaels.
