Huff is still very young. The Cowboys and Parcells really liked him coming out of Texas. Perhaps, he just needs a new start. The Raiders are dysfunctional.

Perhaps, he could come to the Cowboys' dysfunction and turn it around. He'll get a shot from someone. They will line up for him. He's sill young.

I wish the Cowboys would have drafted him, but he went # 7. I would trade Barbie and others for him.

Good Lord no, Michael Huff freaking blows.

You know how bad you have to suck for freaking Oakland to cut your arse???

Oakland is not exactly a place where players go and perform well. What makes him suck, BTW? Anyone know?

The Raiders are expected to cut S Michael Huff this offseason.

Huff has been a disaster since being selected No. 7 overall in 2006. Not only has he tackled poorly, he's also been consistently beaten in coverage for the past two seasons. Rashad Baker is likely to be brought back as Hiram Eugene's backup.

Source: Sacramento Bee

How can you be consistently beat as a safety, when you have a CB playing for the raiders that single-handedly shuts down the best receiver he covers, so you don't have to worry about that receiver?

Bill Parcells didn't exactly do Bradie James any favors at the end of 2006. James turned it around, big time, under Phillips. I don't know what Huff's issues are, but I bet some teams think they may be able to straighten him out.

Edit: (end of 2006)

i was so damn pissed we did not take higgins in the draft..

look what he is doing over there.

he was a superstar at sweeny, texas........... 16 miles from where i live.

superstar at utep.

getting better by the minute even though he plays at oakland.

what the hell happened to huff?

he was solid as a safety you would ever see at ut.

derrick johnson was a beast at lb as a freshman until he entered the draft.

what happened to him?

USC Busts/Disappointments:

Mike Williams, Jacob Rogers, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush (overhyped), Lyndale White (came on this year, still not so good), that WR the Pathers drafted (Turner maybe?), etc et al.

I know.. add names like Troy Polamalu, Lofa Tatupu, Carson Palmer, Junior Seau, Anthony Munoz, Clay and Bruce Matthews, Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen, Dennis Thuman. Just horrible.

Lendale White and Reggie Bush both had very good years this year. Plus 7 players from USC were selected in the top 2 rounds last year.

We have a lot of players drafted so the likelihood of having more busts is there. I would hardly say USC is the number one school for busts though.

By the way, I really like Mike Huff and I hate Texas. Stupid unstoppable Vince Young..stupid National Championship game.

I would be thrilled if we brought Huff in to help our secondary.

I like Huff. Me, I think that if there was a guy you liked in the draft who didn't play so well as a pro but comes free then you've gotta give him a look if he is still young - especially so if he played on a crap team.

Is anyone able to supply anything other than anecdotes like getting beat all the time? He have issues with bracket coverage, single copverage, tackling? I would like to know more because he was a very high pick and Oakland is not a place that sets you up for success.

One thing that is not mentioned here is that our secondary coach is Campo. He developed Smith, Mathis, Woodson, RW38 and showed he could still do it this last year with Scandrick and Jenkins. If anyone can get something out of him itll be him.

Good point. Probably the first thread I've enjoyed in a long time.

except he cant help the secondary any, because he is awful

he cant cover a lick, and supposedly is pretty dumb when it comes to knowing where he's supposed to be...I havent watched the Raiders alot, but the guy has made no plays to speak of since he came in the league, other than being on highlight clips from other teams guys beating him for big plays and tds

he's a bust, period...there are tons of other guys who we can look at

I think it was his anti-Texas agenda and the Bradford picture on his signature

if he isnt an OU fan, he's a Texas hater, so he has something in common

He has Bradford's picture because he's native American (so he's said) and he can't use Bradford's picture without the OU gear on because Bradford looks extremely gay without the helmet on.

Can't cover a lick? Anecdotes are nice and just tell me you have no idea what you're talking about.
