I think the damage is already done, to espn or whoever he works for, they cant keep him around after this.
regardless of what really happened, he was doing something he shouldnt, since he is married.
It is going to cost him money if he loses his job, and legal fees, so that was a expensive little adventure he had.
Yep. Curious to see what ESPN does. Their stance will say a lot about where Irvin stands in the case too. At this point it is unknown to a certainty what he was doing there. If you have been friends with someone for more than 10 yrs...the reasons could be many.

Yes but as jim morrison said "people are strange".
she has known him for long time and then do a false report in hope of getting money? She had to know this would make him less able to pay?

He should know better than to go to a hotel with her or any woman since he is married and a public figure.
Well, people will do strange things for money. Too me, the possibilities of gain fromma civil suit would make at least more sense. I mean, the concept of drugging someone for sex has a dark and almost sick side to it! Thats what seems off about this claim.

It's hard to say whether his employers choose to take drastic action but you've surely got a valid point about it being damaging to his reputation if far more revealing evidence doesn't turn up. Perhaps he was foolishly tempted by someone aiming at questionable goals but my hope is that further evidence somehow works in his favor. His wife might well choose to render somewhat harsher punishment than the law, ESPN, NFLN, NFL and public opinion all put together, though. We'll see what becomes of this, no doubt. Granted, it's really not encouraging news as it now stands.

Well just imo it would be smart thing for his wife to stand by him, in a public way now, to help him keep his job.
She could benefit more from that.
She should have been with him in the interview.

There is no bigger Michael Irvin fan than me...but good lord, how much more does she have to stand by him than she already has?! I mean, that woman's gotta be a saint.

well if he keeps his job that benefits her too ??
If he wins any civil suit, that benefits her too ??

Where if he loses job, loses suit, goes to jail, she loses too.

So a lady should put up with literally decades worth of infidelities as long as her husband remains employed?

I get what you are saying, but Mike's gotta be better and smarter for his family's sake, if not his own.

Well I am just saying she should look at the big picture, and how does she come out the best.
Mike should be smarter, but evidently he wasnt, people do dumb things, even smart people.

Attorney Gloria Allred said in an email that she is representing the woman.

“All that she wants is justice,” Allred wrote. “She has provided evidence to law enforcement in support of her allegations. We look forward to supporting her and to vindicating her rights.”
Gloria has her own problems she needs to fix.
