Interesting tidbit: He is a bit stiff in coverage and can be beaten by quicker slot receivers. Has been protected by some awfully talented cornerbacks throughout his career and wasn't the playmaker in 2012 he had been the past two seasons with Claiborne and Mathieu no longer on the roster.

Homer pick?

I think if he was there in the second, and we did not take a safety in the first, they would run that name to the podium.

However I think many do not think he would last to that pick as he has seemed to be climbing the boards and not just from cowboys related people. Have heard others say similar things.

You are probably right. But I liked that idea of having him there in the second per that Mock. I think safety is a big need but don't want to take it in the first and unfortunately I don't think we will see guys we like in the 2nd or 3rd. So I'm not sure what happens with it.

Yeah I think people should give merit to what a guy like Irvin says, even if its not what they want to hear. Reid at 18 is way too high for him, but the interest is there it seems, we just have to hope they don't do something stupid.

Richardson would be nice in this scenario, just can't go with Sly though. Don't know why he is mentioned so much here, I just don't want a TNew replay with him turning 25 during his rookie season.....no thanks.

Actually, I think you guys are looking at this age situation the wrong way. For a lineman , they often don't come into their own until they get more physically mature. His age might allow him to get a jump start on his NFL career and we could get value renting him for the duration of his rookie contract. After that, well we can resign him or let him walk. Its not like he is going to be 40 at the end of his rookie contract.

So there has to be interest there.

I just hope it is not enough to take him at 18.

I keep thinking of all the different possible players we could take and trying to prepare myself for different players.

I don't hate reid...just seems like he would be so far down as an option that I hope it just does not happen at 18. IF and it is a big IF we take him I hope hope hope it is after a trade down for extra picks.

One last scary thought. Jerry, the scouts and Jason ...someone on this team sure does like LSU players.

Yes. It seems that the Cowboys have an inordinate amount of interest in LSU players (which isn't always a bad thing). My guess is that it is the Les Miles connection that tends to steer us in that direction. (We were supposedly in love with Brockers last year as well).

For a little while it seemed like we tended to over value Ohio State players as well although that doesn't seem to still be the case.

Where there is smoke there is fire.

The Cowboys really must like Reid.

Broaddus keeps saying they like him...even more than he does and he is an LSU man.

Now Irvin says that. Do people really think he just pulled that name from nowhere? Of all the names in the draft he would just pull that name out? He has had to have heard that they like him (even if it is not at 18) at some point. And remember Michael does keep in touch with Jerry.

I hope it is not him...actually I don't want any of the Safeties in the first round and am not really sold on any in this draft. Rather go with one of the OGs if available, Richardson or even Sly Williams.

But we can't just dismiss Reid easily when you have two separate people bringing up that name.

Mike Fisher is reporting Reid is on the Bubble as a r1 grade guy. They like him as a fall back option and grade him higher than Vaccaro.

He is better than Tony Dixon... so there is that. lol.

I 'think' he is alegit trade back option but would be a real reach at 18.

If we take him over Richardson I might actually break down and cry.

For Richardson at 18:

For Reid at 18:

Which one is she supposed to be happy about? Or is it neither? Or both? This is very confusing for me.

Haha... notice the heart she is making with her hands in the top picture. The bottom picture needs no explaining.

I could've used this one for Reid at 18:
