Former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin spoke to G Bag Nation on 105.3 KRLD The Fan on Monday. Some highlights:

-- Irvin said the Cowboys' offensive line was not the problem in Sunday's loss at New Orleans. "I'm putting it on this running back by committee stuff we're doing. That's just what it is."

-- Irvin on if Cowboys can beat the Patriots: "It would be a tough win if everybody was healthy. I wouldn't even call it a possibility."

-- Irvin: Cowboys' beating Pats "would be one of them real Hail Marys. The only way has to be with Jesus at the goal line."

New England is a 7-point favorite to beat Dallas at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.

These are the kind of games that often go entirely differently than expected.

Or in this case, not.

You know...I honestly would not be surprised if the Cowboys came out and embarrassed the Patriots. Not expecting it. Not really hoping for it...I try to keep my hopes as realistic as possible as to not set myself for disappointment (though it happens anyway more often than I would like to admit). But if the Cowboys can get to Brady early and often, which very well could happen with the reinforcements they are getting, this could turn into one of those ugly but still a statement-making type of game.

And this team really needs to get that I think in the absence of Romo. If they can figure out now how to win without him, they will be that much better with him.

Always crack up at the "adjustments" comments.

How many adjustments can you make in 10 minutes? Most of the players are in the can.

Adjustments - as in, its half time and the coaches say, ok, we are being gashed up the middle, or they are taking out our corners, and running their TE's in behind. So we will counter by doing....... Ya know, ADJUSTMENTS.
Many, many games you will see a totally different strategy in the 2nd half of games. Take away whatever is killing you in the 1st. Run when you were playing pass, pass when you were playing run. Formations that have been killing you.
Just not by our team i.e. Falcons game...

The halftime is short, so I wuld assume it is just talk between the coaches, which they relay to the players after or at end of halftime,
Adjustments are also done during the game at any point they decide they need to change something.

JG doesnt change much because his game plans and plays are great, and simply need to be executed properly by players.
The players have to play "well" in all "3 phases"
To him the adjustments are made later when "watching the tape". Or maybe not, sometimes they have to watch a lot of tape before
changing anything.

It is possible dallas could win or play a close game, you never know in NFL.
They will need to cut weedon loose and let him air it out more.

Not going to bet against my Cowboys. I don't care what the line is and what some people might see as obvious. I'll just bet on some other games.

I'm not scared of the Patriots. We are a shell of ourselves right now but if we were healthy we could absolutely beat them.

They should be favored considering we are a walking medical ward right now. I'm sure they'll still suit up and take the field though and anything can happen.

Let's get it!

Well that's the point, we're decimated, may as well make some easy money.

Perhaps. But against the Patriots I'm not so sure. The Patriots would love a shoot-out. That is something they are good at and Brady is significantly more prepared to win than Weeden ever will be. I think the focus for the Cowboys has to be shutting down, frustrating and getting into the head of Tom Brady. Don't get me wrong. The offense absolutely has to score...no question there. But more important than scoring is not making a mistake that makes easier for Brady.

How much time does it take to make a decision to pass on 1st down instead of running on 1st down all the time? Especially when seeing that the opposing defense is hell bent on stopping the run.

Shouldn't be too hard to find someone named Jesus in Texas.
Just need him to run on the field and we'll win

Somehow Pittsburgh kept it close. Defensively I don't think they are any better than Dallas. So if Dallas is somehow able to put together some drives and force 2-3 turnovers, there's a shot.
Sorry, that's all I got....

has everyone seen the movie American History X? Well, there's a certain scene in that movie, a very disturbing scene, those who have seen it know what I am referring to. Those of you who don't, look on youtube.

The New England Patriots = Ed Norton's character
The Dallas Cowboys = the unfortunate soul with a mouthful of curb

that is how the game on Sunday, in a nutshell, is going to go

I don't think that Dallas would have a chance even if Brady went down on the first play of the game. Their backup would outplay our backup.

I love how people want to blame this and that.

Teams are stacking the box and there is nowhere to go.

It's not some big conspiracy.. Has nothing to do with players sucking.

We are just too predictable when and where we are running.

You are spot on!!!
