I think that loss may well come tomorrow. Whether or not it will be beneficial, who knows. lol

Beat the Deadskins and lose to the Vikings. Works the same way. lol I'd rather lose to an AFC team though. We need home field. Don't want to have to play in Seattle.

This. Seattle's offense is starting to look good right now and they have an elite defense. We'll need every advantage we can get against them if our paths cross.

Why exactly do they need to refocus? There aren't any glaring flaws that can be fixed with a loss (pass rush), and it's not like we lucked into a bunch of wins. This is a good team hitting its stride. Lingering issues, like the Dak to Dez connection or Dak beating blitzes, are just starting to improve with each win.

If we win the next 5 games in a row we can rest the starters vs last game against Eagles (start Romo that game?) because we'll have #1 seed in the NFC wrapped up. If we lose before then I'd rather it be one of the 3 games that aren't against NFC East opponents to that vs Lions vs Bucs vs Vikings because I prefer not to lose to an NFC East team when the NFC East is still up for grabs.

Michael Irvin doesn't hold anything back when it comes to being a Cowboys' homer on TV with millions watching. He's known for that. Of course, there are also times when he'll go over the top in making statements that he figures might be beneficial to their well being. Bless his well-meaning heart -- he means well, even if he gets a bit carried away from time to time. Gotta admire his devotion to his old team, in any case. He loves 'em.

19 in a row, so I understand where he's coming from. Sometimes it's best to go into the playoffs with a loss right before to get it out of your system. The thing with this cowboys team is that they are highly methodical and not playing to maintain any record or keep up any streak, so this may not be as valid to them.

Mike essentially said a loss would be good for the Cowboys so they can refocus prior to heading into the postseason. I understand his point but definitely do not agree.

I have had very similar thoughts.

Look back at the history of teams with gross regular season records like 14-1, 13-3. It does not always turn out well.

It takes a special coaching staff to keep a team that is fat and happy grounded.

And you don't want that other shoe dropping in the playoffs.

I think they need the defense to cost them a game to get them amped up even more.

They don't have a lot of talent and they "try hard", I just wonder if they truly are playing at their peak.

This will be an offensive team for the rest of the year. I just wonder if they realize that or think the D has been good enough.

SAS tries to hard. It's getting corny
He always appears to me to be playing a Howard Cosell type character but louder and wanting to be a Cassius Clay bragger.

It's a ratings thing..

everything he talks about centers around social issues and negativism.

It will pass.

I just pray they don't put him in the booth in games..

I have had the feeling for a while now that he is not the only Cowboys fan hoping for a loss. However, the other so called fans are wishing for a loss and/or injury on Dak for different reasons to support their agenda. I think that is absolutely despicable! You know who you are.

But he is not speaking to that. Please quit trying to twist this otherwise or this thread will go where it doesn't need to be.

I will always admire Mike. But, he does talk a lot of baloney. Lose to some other team...but, please not the Eagles, Commanders or Giants.
That is exactly why I have felt that if the Cowboys "have to" lose another game or two this season, I'd rather it come from a team outside of our conference, preferably outside of the East (such as the Steelers or Ravens). Now, of course, all that's left is conference teams.

Sooo... if the Cowboys are "due" for another loss at some point this season, fingers crossed that it's against the Lions or the Bucs, to a lesser extend the Vikes, but I'd still rather beat them.

This fanbase (myself included) is just weird sometimes... lol.

Please read my post again. Then, you will absolutely, or should understand what I am saying. I am not twisting anything. I specifically said, "the other so called fans" are wishing for a loss or injury to Dak for "different" reasons to support their agenda. I know that was not the context of Irvin's comments. Meaning that excludes Irvin from aforementioned agenda. However, that does not minimize the fact that some people on this board have hopes of a Cowboys loss or Dak failure to advance their agenda. I still find that absolutely despicable.

I know you do not like me, and I believe I know why, but please do not twist my words.

You win every game and get home field. NO ONE who is going to be in the playoffs wants to have to go to Seattle including the Cowboys. Playing there blows and everyone knows it.
