I don't consider an 84.9 passer rating to be good. It is average. His 2010 season was 3 seasons ago and is easily the outlier to his career where he has a 80.6 passer rating. His 2012 season is more in line with his career as whole. He hasn't lost it. He just was never that good to begin with. The Eagles may indeed be full of young punks, but Vick is no kind of leader based on his inconsistent performance.

I don't think you need to be an elite player to be a team leader.

He's clearly one of the team leaders over there.

What a load of bunk........
The NFL giving him a second chance had more to do with his "magical turnaround" then anything. If you, I or any other Joey Potatoes on the street had committed the atrocities he did we would even have a hard time getting a job sacking groceries at the local five and dime.

I wonder what those battered dogs think about Vick. lol

No, not really.
He went to jail over that stuff because he was famous, not the other way around.
That is not at all condoning it, just stating the facts.
He was made an example of. And in thruth, someone needed to be made and example of becasue it we becoming so common nationwide to run dog fighting rings.
But nevertheless, he was the one that took the fall. My guess in that in US hisotry, nobody has served more time (and certainloy not lost more money) for the offense he committed.
Plain and simple.

Someone in Florida got 20+ years recently for a big ring thing. But yeah, Vick was made an example of, for good reason. Here's some info on various state laws, if you're interested.

If young players aren't respecting him, then they don't see him as their leader. Pretty simple concept.

It would be, if all the young players didn't respect him.

When you chose to take one quote from Vick and take it as the unwaivering truth, i can see how you could make this mistake.

I wonder if it's because he's prolly gonna be gone next year or if it's because he sucked last year?

Every QB who stepped on the field last year for the Eagles "sucked".. which tends to happen when you have an OL that specializes in "look out" blocks.

Doesn't matter - he'll be hurt within the next few weeks anyways and frankly - if they keep giving Shady the ball over 30 times per game - he'll be out as well.

Carry on. :)

he killed dogs as a hobby...how is he not surprised with the lack of respect?

Some kill dogs as a hobby.. some kill deer.. some kill fish.. some kill rabbits.. some kill birds.. some kill squirrels.. some kill ducks.. some kill whales, etc, etc..

Are all these people horrible human beings?

Killing animals for our enjoyment and recreation is done all over the country..

Killing & torturing dogs as sport shows me you're not only cruel but mentally you're not right.

Anyone that does that cannot justify it in my eyes.

He's got something wrong with him to have been that cruel.

Why is it different from killing any other animal?

Are all hunters and fishers mentally "not right", as well?

You're really going to compare dog fighting to deer hunting and fishing? Are we really doing this?

In both cases, the animals suffer and then they are killed.. are they not?

The difference? Society has raised you to believe one is more socially acceptable than the other.

Both make animals suffer and then die for human recreation and amusement.

Fishers generally don't make it a practice to electrocute the fish, when they try they tend to get fined or arrested (it's illegal). Deer hunters don't typically hang deer. In both cases the deaths are far quicker and less painful than the months or years of mental and physical abuse that fighting dogs go through before they're finally killed.

If you fail to understand those distinctions then I have nothing further to say to you.
