Truthfully though, I didn't think any backup QB was worth going after, but Michael Vick was mentioned as a possibility, and I'll be honest, I like the idea.

He outperformed all our backups in the W department. He could salvage a game if Romo is out for a short time. I mean what's not to like?

Oh yeah, the media will hate it. Trouble. So what? He's matured enough that he's willing to be a backup. Even if he only flashes his previous talent occassionally, Dallas will win games with him. It's not like Showers and Prescott are both making the 53 man squad.

He isnt the progress stopper a younger QB like Glennon would be, simply a vet to hold the fort for a year in case of emergency. Signing him for cheap beats trading assets for a guy who has spent his whole career looking the part instead of actually doing it.

I like the idea enough to bring him in for a workout with no guarantees. See what he looks like in a workout and a physical, then decide.

probably get tarred and feathered in these parts for the suggestion but I'd rather go with Tebow. He's definitely the RKG, I believe he's mentioned he'd play if called upon and has had success, in limited opportunities, in the NFL. Okay, I will duck now!
