Mickey: No one out there to watch practice with, come on guys, jahad thomas out with hamstring, so their thinking its not going to cure up, so i feel they think they need another body, needed another healthy body
No i assume that would be assumption if zeke gets supsended, could happen today or tomorrow or 6 months, way nfl is going on with their investigation
Morris looked good, fooling alot of guys
jaylon looked like he hasnt played in over a year, little slow on reaction decisions, was reported at times jaylon leg drags at times, thats jaylon is at 80 % now, still cant lift his leg normally
several players got jaylon sometimes on blocks, where he couldnt shed them, doubt he practices today, day off tomorrow for players
i thought dak was good, really sharp
morris looked good
david irving looked good, behind line of scrimmage making plays
asuzio made plays at rcb, and first start of practice
they think jordan can work by saturday but league may say he has to have 2 days of practice first
i think cowboys will look for a qb since dysert qb was lost for yr, announcers say no to kapernick, manziel,
get out here weather is beautiful here

No, read between the lines, jaylon is at 80 % peter king reported today, jaylon hasnt played in about a year and 3 months, so to do what jaylon did is really really good, give him time, about 6 more weeks i say

That was pretty discouraging Jaylon news
People really need to dial it back some.

I never weigh in this on topic, but its becoming silly.

The man had no firing of nerves not that long ago.
We should be thrilled its now at 80%:flagwave:

But some the expectations for this year are ludicrous.
Most likely, eventually, he'll be ok

well not like Mickey has been ever wrong....

About 3/4's of the accounts on Jaylon from camp are positive so why get worked up over a few negative ones? AND most of the negative ones come from people who were always against the pick so how much one should trust those reports is open to question.

those whining about Jaylon are mostly those that never liked the pick so I just ignore them.

Yes. I am encouraged by this and believe he will be a factor eventually. However, no one knows when this will be.
I will be very happy if he can even get in and play 6 to 10 snaps a game to start out.
I do not expect him to just jump right in and be the starter. As I am still in the wait to we see him play in a PS game 1st.

Even with any good signs from any padded practices, I want to see him in an actual game. Though I believe he can do this. I am looking more like game 6 to 8 before we will see him on a regular basis on the field at this point.

If he doesn't play this year then he would really have to turn out to be damn near an all pro next year to have justified waiting on him to play two years for a second rebound draft pick since a huge chunk of his low priced rookie contract would have been spent on the bench.

I think a majority of the people here want to see Jaylon become an all pro. Being concerned if he will ever even play is a legitimate concern.

I have been pretty optimistic about him, but the recent reports concern me. If Dr, Jerry Jones hadn't said he was better than they could have hoped for I would probably be looking for a cliff to jump off of now based on some of these reports.

What's it going to be then, eh?

It is only discouraging if you thought what you wanted to see and went looking for it.

It is also discouraging for those who watched the limited footage the past few days and were saying he was back, dominant and braceless.

It is encouraging as this was only the first practice and I would assume he is ahead of where they thought.

The problem is that there has been so much positivity and hype around him from the organization.

But most of that was hope and rooting for him to make it because he wants it so bad.

Realistically, just have to be patient. Real tough to do when people get overexcited. Then it turns into a roller coaster with less than smashing success stories butting up against more honest, less emotional takes.

Is it considered whining...when you watch tape of him from practice...and opine that he doesn't look better than Anthony Hitchens? For my eyes...those are just facts...not whining.

Like I said...I am a Cowboys fan...so I hope he becomes the next Lawrence Taylor...but I am not going to pretend that he is ready to be a catalytic player....when I have seen no evidence of it.

Exactly.

Just him being out there practicing at all is a big step.

Let's see where the kid is at by the end of August.

I saw one clip the other day where the LB's were in a drill where one LB acts like a running back and I could see him try to juke and cut and it looked very awkward. like a guy with a leg issue. I think next season will be the measuring stick. Rooting for him.

No argument from me.
The draft pick is sunk cost at this point.
Im looking forward only

Like I said, Jaylon Smith shouldn't play until the 2018 season.
Why? Because you said so?

If the trainers, doctors and coaches says he can play this year, why would he not play this year?

Why don't we just let the people who see him every day decide when he plays. If it's 2017, great. If it's 2018, OK.
