Romo has to be better, more accurate, and darn it, and this might get everyone all up in arms, more impulsive. Cut the leash on all this protecting the ball business. Let the guy play.

BUt I thought he was supposed to just hand it off and wear his hat normal...

and most importantly never look down on the sideline.

Romo had many many opportunities to also run the ball for some yardage instead of throwing bad throws or taking sacks...nobody told him he CAN"T RUN THE BALL....that's on him.

I don't know if I can stomach another 4 pick game where he's flinging it all around the field..

Or maybe Romo should balance being a turnover machine with being a playmaker.

Mickey Spagnola is the biggest joke of a reporter in existence. The guy has ZERO credibility. He is Jerry's wrag boy. Tell me the last time he wrote a hard hitting piece that took the Cowboys to task WITHOUT some positive spin on it?

Even if you are right, just shut up Mickey and go get your check from Jerry.

That's fine but howabout teach him how to throw a accurate forward pass again. I thought Quincy had snuck in under center yesterday with a #9 jersey on.

yes, I rather have that guy playing instead of this wussy version. UGH. If Romo is going to go down, I rather have him sinking while gunslinging the crap out of the field.

And how do we know they aren't letting him play? What does this offense look like when Garrett let'shim play?

Furthermore, all the plays Garrett has been criticized for were passing plays where he put the ball in Romo's hands.

I'm sorry, maybe I missed it. Exactly how many "4 pick games" has he had in his career?

He had a bad game against the Giants this year, and even in that one he really threw 2. That one off of Witten's hand, then heel, was a fluke. Even though the pass was behind him, that was not a ball that should have ended up being picked. No picks in the 1st or 3rd games. The pick in the last game was Austin's fault - not Romo's. In 4 games this year, he's really thrown 2 legit picks. He HAS been uncharacteristically inaccurate and clearly is thinking too much. He has not been some interception machine throughout his career. The fumbles were more of and issue to knowledgeable fans and that has improved. Romo clearly needs to improve this year, but I'm less worried about an occasional pick than I am his thinking and not just playing.

When he was slinging it in 07, how many of those did he have? 2? Buffalo and Philly.

Now, how many games did he win for us that year:banghead:

Listen. Isn't it time people stop making excuses for Romo when he plays poorly and just let his play speak for itself? I support Romo, but I get weary of every excuse in the book. It is a divisive receiver, it is slow receivers, it is wrong route running receivers, it is his offensive line, it is the offensive coordinator, it is the media and fan's unfair expectations, it is bad luck, it is............................................ does it ever stop? Now the problem is they have him on a leash?

How about he has played poorly at times this year? How about he has struggled sometimes this year?

There are ALWAYS other factors involved when a player struggles, but guess what, there were other factors involved when he succeeded also. I get weary of people wanting to give him ALL the credit when he played well and deflect ALL the criticism when he plays poorly.

Romo has to play better. Thats the truth.

.....but he also needs TE & Wr's that he can trust to know the playbook....

.....Last week Farve had 4 balls that should have been piks..gets pure luck in drops....makes 1 throw in last 4 seconds for TD: and is again hailed as a hero.

Either Romo has to rip these recvrs that cross him up.......or we need a HC or Off. Coor that rip these guys a new one: prefer the latter ...

Aikman didnt put up with it, he let them know.

Fair enough. But the SEVERAL overthrows on Sunday weren't crossups, they were bad throws, period.

Nice post...

If Romo played better.......this game was a victory.....same with the Giants game...

Yes we can question some of the play calling...

But there were plays on the field that if the player executed the play.....we win this game......Spencer catching that int.....Newman defending the ball.....Romo hitting open WR's

Its funny that we can blame a player when he drops a pass.....but we come up with excuses when our QB misfires

When we start to execute better.....the wins will come.

I agree. Romo is clearly not comfortable out there, whatever the reason. If it is b/c he is fighting his nature, reigning in his ad libbing playmaking mojo, then turn him loose.

I would rather be entertained than watch a crappy game AND LOSE.

With ONE caveat. Whenever Felix Jones gets healthy and is in the game, the ball goes to that cat first, hand-off, pass, direct snap, whatever. No more pass blocking for Felix. PLEASE.

Now the excuse and panacea for our problems is to let Romo "play." Great.

I wholeheartedly agree with Spags on this one. Obviously the Cowboys are more run-oriented this year. But what made Tony so great (love/hate for most of us fans) was that he was a lot more impulsive before this year.
Just let the guy play his game and let the cards fall where they may.

Exactly what I've been saying. It's not rocket science.
