NFC EAST

Dallas Cowboys (11-5): Tough road games (Minnesota, Pittsburgh) and the Tony Romo dilemma are ahead, but the lead may be insurmountable in an otherwise average division. (Preseason prediction: 5-11)

New York Giants (10-6): With five of next seven at home and some patsies (Bears, Browns) still to come, things are lining up for Giants to snatch a wild-card berth. (Preseason prediction: 8-8)

Philadelphia Eagles (8-8): Their lack of firepower combined with some daunting non-division games (Falcons, Seahawks, Packers) makes .500 seem a reasonable outcome. (Preseason prediction: 4-12)

Washington Commanders (6-9-1): Just when things were looking up, they learn four-game ban of LT Trent Williams coincides with most brutal stretch of their schedule. (Preseason prediction: 7-9)

After 7 games the Cowboys look as good as any NFC team, explosive offence that can score quickly and can also grind a defence down over 4 quarters and the D has more than held up their end of the bargain so far this year, looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully a playoff run that ends with us in the SB against the Patriots ... and we know how well super bowls work out for the Patriots against NFC East opponents.
They just might reclaim number one in offensive DVOA ratings but Atlanta had a pretty good outing this week as well. I would still take the Dallas offense over Atlanta and New England any day of the week. The running game is so sweet how could you not? Dallas could well end up number one in total DVOA, depending on how much the loss to the Giants hurts Philadelphia, who incredibly have led for the last few weeks...and now they are 4-4...three full games back and still playing like dogs on the road (1-4). They are more in the role of spoilers right now...even the Giants found a way to finally control them after getting ransacked the last few years because of their leaky o-line. The last time the Cowboys started 7-1, they ended up a refs call from a possible title game. I don't see 4-4 down the stretch...6-2, 5-3...13-3 or 12-4, take your pick...unless something unforeseen happens. They are clearly the class of the conference right now...notwithstanding honorable mention for Seattle and Atlanta. Doing it without Romo is particularly noteworthy. I don't know when or how the QB dilemma gets solved, but I do know that Dallas should aim to get Romo in sooner than later. The later it gets in the season the tougher it will be to send Prescott back to the bench. My reservations have mostly been answered. He teetered against Philadelphia but he showed his mettle in OT. That was the game that put him on par with Romo in my opinion. Now is he actually better? I can't answer that one at the present moment...but I will take my crow with some cayenne pepper, because I did not think that he could get them to 7-1. Color me officially impressed.

Nothin but a hatin projection. Our 2nd half schedule is far from cup cake, but we aint going 4-4. And of course they picked us to go 1 and done in the playoffs. lol smh

The Vikings are gonna struggle just to win their division, much less the #1 seed. Their offensive line is flabby and sick.

And no chance in Hell Pittsburgh beats New England in Foxboro. Belichick/Brady OWN the Steelers.

Yes, I think the worse we will do is 5-3, which would put us at 12-4 for the season.

The Vikings, who are currently on a 3 game losing streak (among those against a dinkin/dunkin rookie) are still expected to be the #1 seed in the NFL according to these people? Are they still living in the middle of October?

Oh never mind, didn't realize this was written before the Vikings 3rd loss today. But still.

They have a legitimate Cowboys hater leading their NFL coverage. I know one of their Cowboys writers and I still poke him because he wrote some ridiculous article claiming that the entire team was full of losers and cited Cole Beasley retiring as evidence. This was after Game 1 in 2014.
