I'd love to move up in this draft and get Joe Thomas. He's the best OT I've seen in a while. I'd settle for Justin Blalock though.

Meh...too bad we're not going to have a shot at any of them.

Guess that shows 10 of the players who will not be available when we pick....

didn't he have a knee injury at some point?

I'd take Jake Long from U of Mich....gotta love those OL from Michigan. They tend to have a lot of success in the pros.
It's GOT to be either a QB or a OL. There's really no way around it.
The only pick I could see outside of that in the first round would be Ted Ginn because of his versatility and KR/PR abilities.

If the line's run blocking is good which seems to be the case, and if Romo goes through his reads in the correct order, sees the defense, and releases quickly, the Cowboys needs at draft time wouldn't automatically be all offensive line, all the time.

That's the thinking that got us to this point. If, If, If......If we had a OL many of these other problems would seem much smaller.

It's time to take care of the OL!

I bet a good tackle is available in the middle of the round. There's always one guy there but you never really know whether he'll be a great player, or a bust.

That would be nice. :D But so would Calvin Johnson.

Too bad,Detroit will draft Calvin Johnson.
We will draft a LB who can't get on the field,a TE who will lead the league in offensive PI's,a punt returner who won't make the team until he clears waivers while completely neglecting the QB and OL positions.
Why? because nobody told Bill that you draft starters with your first round pick.
Why draft Bill?
Why not go to Jersey and try out long shoremen?...they're tough...your kind of players.
Go get them ,Bill.:bang2:

Yep. he always seems to run injured. I don't think the guy is going to have the NFL career everyone thinks he will.

His big "problem" is that he continues to fight for yardage after the initial hit... often when he is being grabbed around the legs, etc.

That's how he injured his ankle last year.

He had a shoulder injury his freshman year, but he continued to play through it and didn't miss a game and rushed for an NCAA freshman record.

Last year he had a high ankle sprain.

And this year he had what can only be described as a "freak" accident where he broke his collarbone.

I really think he's suffered from bad luck more than poor conditioning. The guy is a physical specimen and is in unbelievable shape. He needs to learn to avoid direct contact more (ala Julius) but once he does that, I think he'll be special.

I've never seen a running back combine speed, power and agility the way he does.

Whatever team gets him is going to be very lucky. My hunch is that it'll be Houston.

I think Calvin Johnson is the lock of the draft.

Of course people said that about Braylon Edwards, Mike WIlliams, and the other Detroit guy too.

I just don't see Ginn as a top ten guy. He still looks too raw as a receiver. Great, great athlete, but the receiving position has always been much more than just being an athlete. Sure he would be a nice add to a team, but to be a top ten pick. I think he is still a minor project.
