Mike & Mike just did their preseason preview of the Boys. Here's what they said:

Best in NFC last season. Frustrating defeat against Giants

1. Romo/TO best tandem in NFC:
Golic: Manning/Burress; doesn't think anyone is better. Delhomme/Smith? Brees/Colston.

Greeny: Yes

2. Can F. Jones contribute immediately.
Golic: absolutely. This is a league of 2 RBs. Can contribute right away as RB on a part-time basis.
Greeny: MBIII is the scariest man in the NFL. Would dive out of his way.

3. Pacman impact, defense or ST?
Golic: Defense yes, ST is huge. He will change that for the Cowboys. Big Impact. Getting better at corner.

4. Does Jones make a coaching change if no playoff win?
Golic: Heir apparent is there, but no. Sometimes teams pull the trigger too quick.
Greeny: Yes. If not playoff win, will put Garrett as HC.

5. Record for this year:
Golic: 12-4
Greeny: 11-5

Are Romo and Owens the best QB/WR duo in the NFC? Hedged a lot before saying they were.

Can Felix contribute immediately? Said it was a great move because of what he can offer.

Can Adam Jones make a bigger impact on Defense or Special Teams? Field position is huge and what he can do on punt returns is simply huge.

Does Jerry make another coaching change if the Cowboys don't win this post season? It would be too quick a pull on the trigger, but Jerry would to Jason.

How 'bout them Cowboys in 08? NFC East toughest division in all of football. On paper they are the most talented team in the NFC. Game not played on paper. Golic, 12-4. Greenie, 11-5.

I think Brees, for now, is still the best QB in the NFC. But TO puts the Romo/TO tandem over the top for sure.

Mike and Mike in the Morning, Two-A-Days '08, August 19th, 2008
Two-A-Days concludes today with the Dallas Cowboys. The predictions:

Greeny: 11-5
Golic: 12-4
Greeny says: Here’s who they play: they play the AFC North, which means some tough games. They’re at Pittsburgh in December; that won’t be easy. They also play the NFC West; they are home with Seattle. I’m looking at the better teams and where those teams are being played. Their other two out-of-division games are home with Tampa and at Green Bay. If you’re 3-3 [in division], now let’s say you beat the Baltimores, the Cincinnatis, that’s five. Are they gonna win at St. Louis? That’s six. They’re going to win at Arizona? I don’t think that’s easy, but I think they probably should; that’s seven. At Green Bay. At Cleveland: they open on the road at Cleveland; do you think they’re gonna win that? Cleveland looked awful last night. … I’m going two wins less at 11-5, but that’s mostly because as I sat and we were going through all these picks, you can’t go nuts on teams because you wind up shortchanging yourself later on. You find yourself in a position where you have to give somebody a 1-15. Look: it’s not just the NFC East, I just think there are better teams. I think those teams in the NFC West are better. They’re going to go Arizona and I don’t think that’s an easy win. I actually filled out this sheet before I saw Cleveland last night. I thought at Cleveland for an opener was going to be very tough. It still may, but boy, the Browns looked just awful last night. I’m going to go 11-5.

A look back: Last year, the guys both picked Dallas to finish 11-5; the Cowboys reached 13-3 but were bumped by the Giants in the second round of the playoffs.

A look ahead: Tomorrow’s Two-A-Days include Golic’s Philadelphia Eagles and the St. Louis Rams, along with guest host Erik Kuselias.
