Does anybody else have a problem with this? This is like giving Skip Bayless a voice on The Fan after he made up those lies about Troy Aikman. It's bad enough they have a Commanders fan (Shan) on there every morning interviewing Jerry Jones now they have this tabloid clown on every Friday after he tried to destroy the heart and soul of our team. I'm kind of tired of Jerry Jones playing the nice guy role with the media/league....he should have him removed immediately. I wish the Cowboys would go back to The Ticket.

This isn't new. Florid has always had a weekly spot on the fan. He's had that segment for at least a year, probably longer. That's how the "leak" happened.

Shan asked him about if there what the chatter was about and florio let it slip. A little too much blame on Florio here. Again, he was asked a question, answered it well an did his best to make known it was just a rumor and he doubted the existence of a video. It was a little reckless, but he owned up to slipping up and knows he screwed up.

He typically talks about what's going on around the league, and personally it's one of the only segments I like on that show.

Why JJ puts up with the anti-bias is beyond me.
guess because the Ticket and Cowboys came to a mutual agreement after 3 years not to be the flagship station anymore [this according to the ticket guys it was a mutual agreement, plus the station changed ownership when the contract was up]

No other station to take the contract is my guess, but the station is ok, but the hosts in the morning at least are horrible. A Jets and a Commanders fan hosting a Cowboys station...pathetic...

I don't think he made up the story. But as part of the media, he was very irresponsible in relaying that information. His excuse is that he's not a trained journalist and doesn't see the big deal. Well, if you're going to join a profession, you should probably learn something about it.

As a journalism major, one of the core classes you have to take is a Media Law and Ethics class. He broke every lesson I learned in that class with that story. That's why he was getting ripped so badly by his peers.

Gossip mags and sites is one thing, but if you're part of the legit media crowd (which he is, like it or not), then you don't spread spackle and crap and almost destroy a man's career with no proof beyond an incident report from four years ago.

Having said that, I don't mind Florio. He is what he is. Lawyer-turned-media regurgitator. He's not a football guy. He's developed some relationships to push his "Insider" reputation. But really all he is is a high-profile blogger who made it big. I won't knock his hustle.

Maybe they changed, but seems they are more negative than positive about anything the Cowboys do. Always need to rag on a player, the staff, or something.
Never give credit when credit is due. Maybe they changed lately, I haven't listened to them since the end of the season.

Also their overall knowledge of most sports is not that good.
This is the morning guys, not the entire station.

True, the ticket has been pretty bad lately too. They seem to have gone through, and at times still do, a hate for the Cowboys too since they lost them as the flagship station. Some of it was deserved too, the not so good talk.
Only one I listen to most the time is Norm, and he has his moments too. I haven't listened to tem much lately though.

Bob Sturm is good, but his partner, Dan McDowel always cuts off the cowboys talk, or used too, so instead of 10 minutes of Cowboys talk, you get 6 minutes of him rambling on announcements or other crap. Maybe that has changed also.

The Musers in the morning have their value, as it can't be 100% sports all the time for over 4 hours on the air. But they usually have their routines, and Aikman during the season segment is pretty dang good.
Sometimes it's worth listening to them on other topics and can be funny. but when they devote a segment on shaving cream, that's another issue.
Gordon Keith can be hilarious. They all do impersonations of players and can be entertaining. Fake Jerry is great.

ESPN Dallas station, are they still on? My app on my phone, ESPN app doesn't have them listed anymore. I haven't checked the regular over the air station in my car lately to see, as I usually have Sirius Blues or Jazz station on.

The morning show is not deserving of this market. DFW is, what... the 4th biggest metropolitan market in the US? The show with Shan and Rj is just not good/entertaining/knowledgeable for a market of this size, IMO (as pretentious or entitled as that may sound).

That said, I've never really found them negative toward the Cowboys. I mean, the only thing I can remember where I was annoyed with was when Rj refused to acknowledge that Dez was a top 5 WR-- but the crew has mentioned how stubborn he is before and how many BS facts he'll just kind of make up to be right.

The thing that sucks is that they are indeed fans of other teams, including the Commanders. So just about anything they say that is objective just seems like a jab. It's like when Stephen A says something that's completely true and this whole board flips out.

unfortunately there isn't a good local show in the morning in this market.

plenty of great choices in the afternoon and early evening but mornings are basically handed to the kidd kraddick show.
it is definitely sad.

shan's dislike of dez is mostly in response to that being his brother's favorite player. shan's brother calls in and tells them they sucka nd are stupid all the time... that is pretty hilarious and accurate oft-times.

i like the legends bit stuff rj does as host but it has gotten too much radio time lately. once a week for two segments should be plenty.

Fitzsimmons is probably the worst I've ever heard. He NEVER makes an original point, and he's got all these idiotic catch phrases - "And I do mean catch phrases" - that just go on and on and on. He's got to have naked pictures on somebody to keep that gig. He's just awful.
