Mike Jenkins - comment and request

Comment: Does it seem to anyone else that the rest of the league hasn't quite figured out yet how well Jenkins is playing? One would think teams would start avoiding him and targeting Newman and others exclusively. It seems to me he's elevated himself to the level of shutdown corner, at least for now. IMO he was the most important piece of the defensive puzzle last night.

I think Jenkins is the best CB on this team and is a big reason Dallas defense is allowed to be as aggressive as they are.

There is no way he shouldn't have gone to the Pro Bowl.

Their might be 2 corners in the entire league playing at a higher level than him.

Last year, I thought Scandrick was slightly ahead of Jenkins. In 1 offseason, Jenkins has really grown into a complete CB. I'm impressed. Some people were getting down on Scandrick, but he has rebounded nicely over the last 3-4 games.

I think I even heard Buck say that Andy Reid had commented that Jenkins was possibly the best CB in the league. I think teams are noticing and finding out he isn't a fluke. The guy is always in perfect position when the ball comes his way.

Jenkins does something our DBs have failed miserably in the past at doing..he is always looking for the ball. In the past our guys would never look back for the ball and watch as the WR made the catch...

And he plays with attitude and that South Florida swag. We need more guys on defense like him. I hope we get Brandon Spikes or the guy everyone hates in Taylor Mays.

...what I have noticed about Jenkins is he is always in position or relatively close to making a play on the ball or the receiver.

He's got a lot of confidence right now and he just playing naturally and letting his feet run with the receiver.

Nice thing is he's got a knack for turning on the ball as it is coming into the receiver's hands.

If this kid can stay healthy I can't imagine what would be his potential as he gained more experience and learned the finer points of the position.

He's a real nice surprise and we all should be pleased.

Jenkins is the BIGGEST difference on Dallas defense from last year to this year

Austin is the BIGGEST surprise on offense..but he provided something we already had in Owens

Buehler is the BIGGEST difference maker on special teams

The bump these three guys have provided has made us a legitimate contender for the SB

I agree completely. Mike Jenkins is one of the best corners in the league. He takes receivers out of the game.

What I love is because he is using proper technique and staying in a good position it allows him to look back to the ball. It is hard to look back and find the ball when you are chasing a WR and playing catch-up

Not only is he in position, but he has incredible ball skills. Newman is always there, but he can't make a play on the ball to save his life. That's what separated Jenkins at this point.
