on this team. Had Scandrick had two games like Jenkins has had there would be threads everywhere about how good he is. What is it about Jenkins that rubs people the wrong way? And that td tonight that it looked like he gave up didn't seem like his fault.

I'm a Scandrick guy, and for me personally, nothing about Jenkins rubs me the wrong way. In fact, I like the guy a lot.

But since his surprisingly solid play in the slot last year, I have LOVED Scandrick's attitude and confidence. Not just on the field but in interviews as well. Seems like a really smart kid on top of that. You want guys like that on your football team.

That makes me root for the guy a bit harder than I would a more reserved guy like Mike Jenkins. But I was pleased with Jenkins' play last night. Great job breaking our turnover cherry with that deep ball INT.

I will give Jenkins some major props. I saw him make one hell of an aggressive tackle yesterday on what I believe was a running back or a TE.

I was impressed.

While I agree he is underrated and is close to having about 5 picks this year I think Roy Wlliams is our most underrated player and as soon as Romo realises that he is getting open than he can be dangerous.

Nobody wants to tackle that big guy once he gets going.

Mike Jenkins has the best ball skills of any db on this team. Not even close.

Great point.

I do not think anyone underrates Jenkins ...... he is a good young corner.

people just love the underdog

Scandrick has the intangibles, but Jenkins just flat out has better upside

Watching as a fan of the team Jenkins has the potential for more game changing plays. Scand is really solid but not spectacular. He'll break passes up and make the tackle when needed (first game I think was not an indication of his abilities). But Jenkins has the ability to cause qbs to think twice about going his way. That penalty last night was a result of really good coverage. If mussa dosent interfere Jenkins prolly has second int of game.

I was saying this yesterday. He gambles a bit which can be risky but he is really the only db that makes plays on the ball consistently.

Newman had the pick 6 last night but that was on a ball that hit him in the stomache. I wish he would look for the ball a little more because he always puts himself in great possition for the pick, ie, the deep ball that was inside towards him that he could have run forever with but never located it.

Jenkins is always trying to go for the ball which I LOVE!!!

I don't know man. The Jenkins hate has been pretty intense for awhile now.

Even when he had some good games last season he got no credit because he ducked a tackle last year at New York.

As far as im concerned he is our biggest playmaker in the secondary and I really hate to see Wade switch back to Scandrick this week.

We need to build consistency in the secondary and I wouldn't change a thing after our defensive display last night.

ok this is the deal with jenkins;
he has the most talent of any db we have
but he has to work, study to be the best
when he doesnt work, study, then he slouches and makes bad plays etc

i dont dislike jenkins, i still think in time, another year we will have one of the top secondaries in the league with jenkins, newman, scandrick and mickens. I still think in 2 years that Scandrick will be one of the most feared shut down corners in the league. Jenkins will profit from that because teams wont want to throw at scandrick.

add to that sensabaugh, the only weakness i really see in our secondary is ken hamlin, to me hamlin isnt playing like he is capable of the way he played his first year. Once we find a safety to replace ken hamlin and resign sensabaugh, our secondary next year will be one of the most top defensive backs in the entire league. You saw it here! I know what dd fanatic said and i agree with that, but notice i said next year, the young dbs will grow into that this year. Look at revis, the top shut down corner for the jets, took him just as long to come into his own too. Takes time, sometimes.

the seattle seahawiks said the same thing that once hamlin gets his money contract he doesnt put forth the real effort

need i remind you that the nickname for ken hamlin was The Hammer!

have you seen the hammer make any big plays last year or this year?

there is your answer!

You are kidding right. Jenkins has a long way to go and alot to prove IMO. Kosier is easily the most underated player on the team to me.

That dude is in his own world man. Jenkins has been hated on this whole off'season. He has been the most consistent db on this team.

Were you here in the offseason and training camp? Everybody wanted him on the bench, yet he is the best corner that we have.

If Jenkins had tackled Derek Ward, he wouldn't be underrated. In the public perception, that play wiped out everything he did last season in coverage, which was pretty good. I have no doubt that the perception of him this offseason would have been much different if he had tackled Ward.

And I don't think people should be down on Scandrick just because he had a bad game last week. They're both good young corners who should continue to improve. But they will have bad games from time to time, like any other young corner.

I know people were high on Orlando but the only way you cant be underrated as a first round pick in your second year.

You are SUPPOSED to be good due to your draft position. Playing to expectations isn't being underrated.

You can be overrated though or just suck as some 1st rounders are.

The most underrated player on the team is Tashard Choice.

Put on Barber's jersey on Choice during his starting stint last year and last night's game, and other than the hair - most people don't notice a difference. Choice is a hell of a back.

True. But he is not underrated anymore. Not after last year. With him being out, everyone saw how valuable he is to this team. He is a key cog. Now if we were flip-flopping him around with Holland every other game, I could see where you're coming from.

Jenkins will be a very good player once he makes his rounds through the division and starts to learn tendencies. He gives us a chance against Desean Jackson and the Eagles with his recovery speed. He just needs to get the work and the reps. You can't really do that in a rotation.

I say let Scan handle the slot full-time.
