I didn't follow him last year at Oakland, was he getting lit up? That's a crazy cheap deal for a potential starter.

He was decent. He is not a much worse corner than Carr as far as talent. However, I think that ole move had a lasting impression he could never shake off.

Carr is not 8.5M per year better than Jenkins.

Jenkins really messed up in displaying his attitude issues towards the end of his tenure in Dallas. Even though it might have just been perceived, he got a rap and that can follow you around the league. Sometimes you just got to play your role and you'll get your pay day. I sort of feel bad for him.

I thought he was a good corner for us. Wouldnt have bothered me to keep him and Carr as a tandom and kept that extra pick in the draft.

I dunno what Jenkins problem is... attitude... dedication... I dunno, but he hasn't met expectations.

That thought crossed my mind, but I think he's damaged at this point.

He was pretty damaged when he was here. They had to decide if they wanted to extend him for pretty big money and with his shoulder issues I think it was a good 'pass'.

It also didn't help that he talked about returning to Florida while still a part of the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is overly loyal to his players but he gets pissed very easily. Jones takes things personally and I have no doubt he was not happy with Jenkins's poor attitude. Jones would not have offered him 1.5 million out of spite.

That would have been nice about now. At the time, though, he was injured, and Newman had a big number on him. We needed two CBs that season, and were pretty fortunate to get as much out of Jenkins as we got his last year here.
I don't know what the story is on the guy. He keeps getting starting jobs, but he's not getting a lot of respect by way of salary or long term deals. There's got to be something going on there.

Carr and Mo was here Jenkins last year. Newman was already gone.
I really thought it would be Carr and Jenkins until the draft day trade.

A 'real' GM dumps Revis and replaces him with Mike Jenkins. Cue the "if-only-we-had-a-real-GM" crowd ...

Well, the owner gets to pocket $14.5M with that move (Revis' salary - Jenkins' salary). Can't wait until Jenkins makes some 'business decisions' on the field.

Lovie to Jenkins: Come on Mike, at least make an effort.
Jenkins to Lovie: You want me tackle that 250 lb RB. Not for $1.5M. You crazy.

From what I understand he really played around with his rehab and fought with the front office really publicly. No one is going to want that from a player who has a ton of injury issues and a lot of bad tape... The guy had like one really good year here, and 4 bad ones...

good luck when you're a malcontent living off of one year of your six year career...

on the other hand we were born on the same day, so kudos to him for that...

When you consider what we are paying for Carr....what we paid (6th overall and 2nd round pick) plus his salary for Claiborne...and what we are paying for Scandrick. The investment looks TERRIBLE...especially when we were HISTORICALLY bad on defense. There are so many things in the way of this team having success....and this is near the top. I see people suggesting we go Safety early in the draft....when you invest this much in a trio of CBs....theoretically you should be able to put tackle dummy at Safety.
