Why would Detroit draft Davis? Unless I'm reading wrong.
They have a need at WR. Is it their biggest need? No but they could use a true #1 and he would be very hard to pass up at that point. Would create a hard to cover trio of Corey Davis, Marvin Lewis, and Golden Tate out the slot. Might not matter. He may not even make it past Baltimore who picks shortly after Philly if Philly passes for some reason.

Ehhh if they have a need with two high paid WRs then someone needs to be fired

Golden Tate only has 2 years left on his contract and his final year is setup for him to be cut if he doesn't have a great season or starts to lose a step. I see no reason why Detroit wouldn't invest their 1st round pick on a player who is widely viewed as a top 15 talent as well fills a need seeing how Anquan Boldin is a FA, will be 37 next season, and was part of their starting lineup this year. Would you draft Corey Davis or John Ross with our 1st even if Dez is one of the highest paid WR in the league and Beasley is playing like one if not the best Slot receiver in the NFL? Not to mention have a offense that is built around running the ball.

Depends on who else is available and the organizations real thoughts on Dez's future. If Dez was a consistent great player like He's paid (Julio) then no I wouldn't draft Davis

You would draft Ross though? (saw you say in another thread hes part of the few you want at 28) Lions don't even have a Dez to think about. Marvin Jones is not a #1. He was a panic signing because of Calvin Johnsons surprise retirement. Golden Tate is better as the 2nd go to guy then as the man as well. I see no reason why it would be silly for the Lions to draft a WR as talented as Corey Davis if he was to slip to them (which he won't).

I see what you're saying, but they just have much bigger needs than another wr. They have a history of taking receivers just for the hell if it

I think it would be dumb for them to take John Ross since hes rated around the early to mid 20s but a a player like Davis is too hard to pass up. WR may not be a top 3 need of theirs (which are OL, CB, DL) but finding a franchise WR is right at 4th or 5th on the list. I say as long as you take care of a need when drafting then im good. I would rather have a stud WR who can make my QB look good then have to take a chance on Cam Robinson as a OT like Detroit may have to do if they want an O lineman in the 1st. Not to mention with how deep CB is this year, they could still walk away with a stud Corner in the 2nd and a left end in the 3rd. Ansah as their pass rush monster gives them the luxury of waiting for dline help.
