aaron donald is the closest thing we will ever get to see of a replica of randy.

there will never be another manster...but this guy's motor, swim moves and intensity, nonstop effort is pretty close.

This would be a no-brainer if we knew for sure Tony was healthy, what was going on with Orton, and - at least for me - if we hadn't signed Weeden. (The thought of Weeden starting for the Cowboys just terrifies me...) If those things weren't in play, we take Donald or Barr, then throw back a couple of brews and see who we take next. But, those things are in play, so we take Manziel in this scenario and let him play his way onto the field in the next 2 or 3 years, IMO. Hopefully, it works out like Rodgers did in Green Bay.

I trade down with the browns for their 26 and 35, then take

26: Scott Crichton
35: Jeremiah attaochu
47: Dominique Easley

And of course the rest of the NFL would oblige...

You don't pass on three blue chip talents in the hopes of possibly netting second tier players in the second round.

Oh wait, didn't they have hall of famer and Superbowl champion Brett Favre on the roster still, when they made that pick? You don't say...

They also had a loaded team without the dozen holes that we have. That luxury paid off

If a player of Manziel's caliber is there at #16, you take him and worry about fixing the defense later.

Yes, and we have Tony Romo. I don't see your point. Green Bay had Farve, but still took Rodgers when he fell to them at 24 on draft day. A move like that can't pay off unless you pull the trigger when the opportunity presents itself.

Im not saying I would love it, but if this team really wants to start drafting and building the roster in the right way, if Manziel is there you have to take him. DL is one of the deepest positions in this draft. Hell, you can go DL every pick for the rest of the draft and 2/3 will probably start on this team.

Manziel won't be there @16...other than that fact Dallas needs a Pass Rusher from the outside most of all (in the 1st round of the 2014 NFL Draft).

Barr is the logical choice over the 6.0ht 280lb Aaron Donald.

I'd rather rue passing on a quarterback that we shouldn't need for at least three years than passing on a pass rusher that we desperately need now.

Some might think Manziel is higher-rated, but I'm not sure scouting departments see it that way. Pass rushers with the build and quickness Barr has always are coveted when the draft rolls around, much like Ware shot up the board.

I'd consider Donald also before taking Manziel, but having Melton makes me lean toward the end.

Is there a difference in trading a pick vs trading the rights to player already drafted?

If Manziel is there at 16 I would probably take him based on his trade value. There might not be enough time to get the best offer during our pick. With the second round a day later, teams would have a whole night to come up with a package for Manziel. HOU, OAK, CLE and MINN all have early 2nd picks and may want him.

Sorry, guess I misunderstood. Sometimes sarcasm doesn't present well in this kind of format, if that is what you intended.

Haha yeah I was being sarcastic. Sorry, I thought the quote made it more clear. I don't want Manziel, but if he is there at 16 there is no doubt in my mind he would be BPA.

I don't think the NFL allows this unless the framework is already in place with the league office before the pick is made.
