The Ticket has had some DJ's leave recently, looks like Rhyner is starting a competing station, and bringing those DJ's along... pretty crazy news.

DFW will soon return to its previous status as a three sports-talk station region. The man who brought us the first will soon bring us the third. Mike Rhyner, the man is given the credit for helping start the popular Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, is coming out of retirement to lend his talents to 97.1 The Freak. “I can neither confirm nor deny this,” Rhyner wrote via text. While I wish The Freak all the luck in the world, do they really think they can replace The Ticket?

Funny I was just wondering about Rhynes today...

I was a P1 Day 1 when I lived in Dallas. I like The Ticket, but it's been a giant soap opera from Day 1...

I was a Day 1 P1 starting 1/24/94 but those days ended during the fall of 2020 following the goings on of that summer....got tired of several hosts...namely Corby and Danny....continually trying to make me feel guilty for being a white guy. The Ticket left me...I didn't leave them. Screw them!
