What if Shanahan doesn't want to be a HC anymore but just wants to be an offensive coordinator. He is getting up there in years and could be looking for a bit less stress.

Would yas be up for him coming in to only run the offense? Doesn't matter who will be the HC whether it is still Garrett, Lovie or any other defensive minded HC.

I'd love to have a Lovie/Marinelli combo in Dallas, I'm just not sure he will make it to the offseason. I'm not even all aboard Shanahan, just throwing out some ideas. I think having him as an OC might undermine the head coach even if that's what he wanted to do. Shanahan is probably too big of a name to have a coordinator job. I'm not too worried about the offense though, mostly defense.

He and Jerry are friends. But, Shanahan has something like one playoff win or one playoff appearance in the last 15 years. Ouch. I don't think we really need that. We need some boldness and ingenuity from a new coach.

One coach I would like to see given some consideration would be OK State Mike Gundy. Yeah, he had his famous "I'm 40. I'm a man" meltdown but his teams seem to play well and he is new. I'm tired of the same old/same old on offense. Draft QB Hundley if available and let Gundy get him ready in a year or two. Roll with Romo until then. I'd much rather see that than some diva like Shanahan.
