I agree. But that Saint's team was raw from what I remember and they needed all of their picks. Sean couldn't justify trading a 2nd rounder away for a backup QB. Especially at that point.....I believe Brees was a year older than Romo if I'm not mistaken.

Did the trade offer for Romo occur before or after the Saints signed Breed?

No he wouldn't.....he already knows how our egotistical GM in training is, so he wouldn't even consider a HC position here as long as Jerry is around.

The two real HC's we've had that he couldn't control didn't stay around long, Jerry won't try and hire another.[/QUOT

I dont believe that. He is close with jerry. If he had been offered the head coaching job in january of 14 in Dallas I can't imagine he wouldn't have taken it.

Dallas banged up offense beat his cincy defense in 13 with two late drives that year. I dont remember anyone wanting him as head coach here then.

They must have had anti- Zimmer threads every week back then. lol

that was the great win over the eagles. Followed it up with the Overtime win against NY.

Both fantastic games with great atmospheres at the stadium.

Three eagles fans in my section flipped out in the third quarter while the eagles were getting blown out and got escorted out by police. It was fun.

I remember the philly paper one of the writers was like someone named tyson thompson came in and ran all over the philly defense.

Before. They have no need for Romo after they signed Brees.

That's what I thought though it was a long time ago. Payton tried to bring Romo with him and when he couldn't trade for him signed Brees in free agency.

Wow. A head coach actually talking to a player getting his head back into the game. Garrett puts that responsibility on the other player’s shoulders while he continues staring at the field.

Yea they didnt sign brees till march.

Payton took Gary Gibbs with him and made him the defensive coordinator.

Whoever should be our coach it shouldn’t be Garrett. I’m at the point that I just can’t get excited about this team until he’s gone.

Parcells would have won the SB in 2007. Retired after 2008. Zimmer would have taken over. Perennial playoffs instead of the Red Headed excuse machine.

Counter factual of the day.
Yawn. :muttley:

If Zimmer loses today(I hope he wins), Zimmer is 0-2 in the playoffs and he hasn’t put together two consecutive playoff appearances in 4 years.

Not much different than what we have.

Zimmer, Payton. Both universally disliked by fans. But good coaches regardless.

HOWEVER they were both under the yoke of a conservative HC. So fans weren't wrong to be upset with them. That anger was just misplaced, however. They were just doing what they were told.

Actually I blame Parcells for why Payton and Zimmer aren't here before I do Jerry.

I'm in someone's sig for blaming Parcells for a lot of our current situation.

His dismissal of many coaches, combined with this shift from the 4-3 to the 3-4 set this franchise back quite a bit.
