I been paying attention to the type of plays Miles Austin being making throughout his career. Here goes some videos::

http://www.nfl.com/videos/tag/Miles Austin

- His first career touchdown (80 yards) came in New Orleans in preseason 2006 . But still after that he made the team but didn't get no playing time.

All I know is i'll be a little upset if I dont see him in the starting lineup against Atlanta.

I appreciate the job Patrick Crayton has done and I don't hate him nearly as much as a lot of people on here do. But Austin just has so much upside and we spent a lot of time developing him.

If you can't get him 90% of the snaps from the "3rd receiver spot" than you better start him.

I also don't want to see Garrett make him run 20 yard routes every play either. Get the ball in his hands and let him make a play.

Many apologies for the nitpicking, but there aren't a lot of CowboysZone posters hating on Crayton. CowboysZone's membership is nearly 24K, so there aren't a lot of folks hating on him. Just a significant number who are very vocal about it. :D

In my opinion, Crayton's not going to see the field very much if he's downgraded to third receiver. Through five games, we have seen a majority of 2TE/2WR/1RB, 3TE/1WR/1RB and 2TE/1WR/1RB/1FB sets. Even when we have gone four wide, Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett have usually accounted for half of the receivers dedicated to the play. I highly doubt Jason Garrett's going to get away from the established scheme in the near future.

Crayton is a decent receiver, especially given where we drafted him and the expectations he had coming in.

However, ever since 07, when Crayton started opening his pie hole and spewing out crap, and then proceeding to lay eggs during the games, I started to lose respect for him.

Last year, he was below average and this year he's had a couple of good games and a few bad ones. Overall, I'd rather see Austin get more PT. He has a better attitude, doesn't open his mouth and knows his role on the team. He's also much more productive and a much better complimentary player to RW.

Again, Crayton is not a #2 WR, which is why he's not played well in that role. However, he is the team's best #3/Slot receiver, so by moving him back there, to his natural position, and bring in Austin for the #2 spoy, the Cowboys are possibly upgrading 2 positions.

Crayton and Roy= No Scared Defenses

which = ****ty O

If you really stop and think about it though we didn't need to throw the ball against the Giants and Panthers because they couldn't stop our ground game.

We lit the Bucs defense up and we lit the Chiefs defense up.

People are basing a lot of this off of the Broncos game because everyone thought the Broncos weren't a good team. Well this just in. The Broncos are an excellent team and one of the better defensive units in the league.

Lets wait until we have more evidence before we start throwing everyone under the bus.

Of course Miles Austin having 10 catches for 250 yards in a surprise.

But did you know, including playoff games, Miles Austin now has more touchdowns of at least 40 yards (five) than either Terry Glenn or Rocket Ismail had as Cowboys (four apiece)? He needs only one more to tie Joey Galloway, and only two more to tie Alvin Harper.

Get ready for a Werder report that he won't start after all. He was saying on the Irvin show that someone at Valley Ranch told him that Miles only plays the same position as Roy.

Irvin was confused by this, because he said Miles should be perfectly suited for the flanker position, and he also said Werder had the X and Y confused, unless Garrett has completely changed the positions from the way Norv did it.

So I suspect that Werder is totally wrong. But that doesn't mean he won't run with it.

Obviously the two long catch and run TD's were exciting, .. but the reasons I think he deserves more opportunities were the pass he took from the DB and the one where Romo was buying time and MA works back towards him to get open and give Romo a place to go with it.

I really don't remember TO or RW making those type of plays.

Miles just hasn't been able to stay in the field in the past. If he can avoid getting that nagging knee injury, he'll be a huge factor.

Exactly....it could have a compounding upside.

They've been on the field together this season and last season, with Roy as one wide receiver and Austin as the other. And Austin has been listed on the depth chart behind Crayton, not Williams.

Excuse my ignorance....

thats the only thing in football that confuses me...what the difference between the 2 positions? X and Y? is it different sides? i seen Miles play on both sides last game and in the past

I'm more of a D guy, but still...i would like too know

He's one of the few exciting players we have on offense. Would definitely like to see him get more balls thrown his way. He's both fast and quick, and running after the catch looks to be his specialty.

I like the guy, personally, because I'll never forget that kickoff return against Seattle. One of my favourite plays I've ever seen...

I think going for 250 yards in one game would qualify as a suprise no matter who the receiver was.

Austin Miles is a bust as a undrafted free agent.

I'm trying to see if you're trying to be funny or what, but I just don't see it. First, you transpose his name, then you call him a bust as an undrafted free agent. Huh? I don't get it.
