people have this image in there head like TO is so athletic, or dominate.....no way...TO is just a big body guy with speed and smarts of the game, that's were is ends

His hands are not that great on a scale from 1-100 he has about 70-75 on hands....bad for an all pro

he cant jump, that has been proven, and he cant go up and get the ball, you would think he could, but he cant, hes just tall, and cant even fight for the ball, it was evident all the years hes been with us.......

his route running sucks, i will say his ability to fake a defender out is good, but beating them on a str8 up route running basis, he cant, sometimes he can with speed...hes not good on outs...or curls....just posts and streak routes, sometimes the slant

and hes a huge baby

Miles, is just as fast, i think faster than TO

Hands have improved, and look to be better than TO's

He can jump higher, and go up and get the ball....he has proven that

his route running can be better, and i think will be better, hes no worse then TO here...maybe a bit bitter

Now when it comes to faking a defender out, i dont think he has that down yet, and isnt as smart as TO yet, but he can run a str8 route without any jukes and get away from a defender, something TO cant do on a regular basism which is why i believe he is faster and quicker....

but TO's smarts....and his ability to be deceptive makes a better WR

If Miles develops these things..he will be better overall...talent wise i think way better

flame away

Laughable. Miles has done nothing to prove this.

Possibly. I still have a hard time believing Austin's TOP speed is the same as T.O.'s. T.O. is ridiculously fast when he hits that 2nd gear of his.

Anyways, it's all moot. You could make the argument that Isaiah Stanback is also more physically talented than T.O. Ditto Todd Lowber and Randal Williams (remember him?).

The truth is, the NFL has loads of physically talented WRs. And the strong majority of them never become star players. Damn near every team has an Isaiah Stanback... a physically gifted WR who they're hoping can develop into a stud.

I'm excited about Austin's potential like any other Cowboys fan who has witnessed his development the last 3 seasons. But let's not get carried away here...

So that's why he is the only receiver in the NFL to have 10 or more tds the last three seasons?

Gotcha.

I admire the effor though to try and convince everyone that an undrafted free agent who has never started an NFL game has more talent that a future Hall of Famer...

I understand where you're coming from, I really do. But dude, you cant base things of of Madden and a rating of 0-100. Football isnt played on paper. Its played on the field.

You're right, he doesnt have great hands. Cant beat press coverage anymore. Not the best route runner (but not bad either). Not a jump ball receiver (Roy is, so watch for that this upcoming year). Not a quick receiver. What he has is straight line speed, and strength. Thats pretty much it. But the guy produces. Just because Miles Austin may have better individual qualities, I highly doubt he ever becomes half the receiver that TO is.

Can't you support the guy and wish him well without going off the deep end?

Exactely! Be a "team player"...the success of the team will make you, you cannot make "the team". That's been tried...and failed.

When exactly did Miles Austin prove he can go up and get a ball? When did he fight for a lot of catches this last season to prove that he can out jump TO or that he'll win a jump ball contest?

I admit I don't remember every one of his 18 catches ( I believe that is what he ended with) but i don't recall to many jump balls or fights for it to prove that he can.

In fact I can remember, specifically, two balls that TO either had to leap up to get it or fight over go over a defender to get the ball and those would be the catch he made down the sideline against Seattle that he had to leap up to get and then the TD in Pittsburgh where he went over the defender for the TD.

I'm not saying Austin doesn't have talent, or that I don't think he'll be very good, but to make some of these claims seems extremely premature.

Naw. He predates Danny. Wonder what ole Danny boy is going to do this season.

I'm excited about Austin. It often takes 3-4 years for a WR to come into his own in this league. Now what year is this for him?

If he's better than TO, or exhibits that potential, then why aren't a boatload of teams stepping over each other to sign him to an offer sheet? A 2nd round pick is peanuts for TO's heir apparent.
