Notice the Byron Jones ranking.....closer to bottom of top 10. Bottom of top 10 salary ranking is $12.5M ( see Over The Cap below). My point is signing BJ to an extension may not cost as much as we think. The tag $16M, so I'm guessing $13-15M should get him signed.

THE MMQB PODCAST TOP 10 CORNERBACKS FOR 2019
“Others receiving votes” is included if you listen to the show, along with more discussions on cornerbacks including why there’s so much year-to-year volatility for many CBs, the coverage vs. pass rush debate, a conversation with A.J. Bouye, and much more. Position ranking voting is AP Poll-style among three panelists, with Andy’s votes counting double:

1. Stephon Gilmore, New England, 100 points (4 first-place votes)
2. Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville, 94
3. Patrick Peterson, Arizona, 86
4. Marshon Lattimore, New Orleans, 77
5. Xavier Rhodes, Minnesota, 72
6. Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore, 70
7. Chris Harris, Denver, 68
8. Byron Jones, Dallas, 65
9. Tre’Davious White, Buffalo, 56
10. A.J. Bouye, Jacksonville, 53

Interesting we shall see. I've been rooting for him since we drafted for him largely because he grew up in a neighboring CT town from where I grew up.

What's the transition tag number? If there is no new CBA they have the 2nd tag as well.

Probably about right, but he got worked by McLaurin and wasn't particularly good the last 4-5 games of last season.

I wouldn't say he got worked by him. Early in the game, McLaurin could do nothing against him. Late in the game, he gave up some catches to McLaurin, including the TD.

Ehhh I wouldn’t say McLaurin worked him. Two of those passes were perfectly defended. Just amazing throws and catches.

Not down playing McLaurin, he’s going to be a stud.

I know. It's like the other team NEVER can make a great play. It was a great play even though BJ had great coverage.

So? The entire Philly secondary is trash. You just going to leave out the touchdown as if it's just another play?

62 yards is hardly getting worked though.
AND a touchdown that wasn't even close to being defended...

But it is if we're talking about putting Byron in the elite conversation. If you're going to be in the top 10 and make $15m a year, McLaurin shouldn't do anything when the ball is coming out quickly on every play.

Hopefully we have less complete guess statements.

In summary, Terry working Byron is complete lie not supported by fact. What's new?
