I remember this game very well and re watched it again last night. I'll have to admit, I came away with a disgusted feeling and here's why:

1. The season started out in the worst way possible. After the Irvin arrest and suspension Barry had clearly lost the team.

2. The offense didn't manage a touchdown in what should have been a blowout. Why didn't we get Troy more weapons when Kevin Williams clearly wasn't the answer in 1995. I'm also sure Novaceck's back didn't sudden fail either. It was degenerative.

3. Free agency and poor drafting had finally caught up with the team. There was no depth on offense or defense and with Haley being out no pass rush. Shante Carver was never the answer.

4. At the end of the game there was a brawl on the Cowboys sidelines. Deion pranced as far away from it as he could with the biggest grin on his face. He was a mistake.

5. Irvin hugging Switzer repeatedly after the brawl and cradling his head is just not something a real head coach tolerates. The team was done.

6. The blank stare on Troy's face as he stood on the sidelines at the end said it all.

In fairness, the Packers were starting street-level free agents at wide receiver in that game. Moose admitted, if the Cowboys had beaten the Panthers, they would've gotten destroyed in Green Bay.

We definitely would have. Brooks, Rison, and Freeman would have shredded our secondary and we didn't have the offense to match it. It's hard to score touchdowns with Kevin Williams and Eric Bjornson as your starters.

It was incredible how poorly we drafted. I have to wonder what a real head coach would have done with this team. Gailey briefly brought us back to life but it was short lived. I firmly believe the nail in the coffin was signing Deion. The locker room chemistry and discipline went right out the window. Not to mention all the players we couldn't sign.

Oh wow. Yeah. I can see what you're saying. You can say Deion helped get us another SB, but also deteriorated the locker room at the same time.
All I will ever remember about Gailey is him getting pantsed by Newman.

It was an awesome game.

And we won it.

I don't see the problem.

If you want, there are way more recent games you could turn your attention to.

Just like there are plenty of other posts you can turn yours to.

Look, I am all about nostalgia.

But I also understand when opposing fans tell us that we live in the past.

This is a classic case.

Who cares what they think. There's nothing wrong with looking back and reliving memories, seeing old players, and dissecting how the team functioned back then. This isn't a Super Bowl 30 thread.

It's the offseason. There's not much to talk about and you're here trying to hijack threads and worry about other teams fans.

I forgot one:

7. The decline of Erik Williams. After the car wreck he wasn't able to dominate Reggie White like he used to, leading to a lot of rushed throws by Aikman. He just no longer had the leg strength.

Thanks for making me feel better about my memory, Newman pantsed Campo, not Gailey.

So this is the game that Brett Farve was upset about and he wanted revenge against the Cowboys after beating us in the playoff game back in 2010.

Thanks for posting this game. I'm the type that likes to go back and watch old games like this. I appreciate it.

Watching this and especially the brawl at the end. Which I think Reggie White did over react a little. I mean if Bonoil has a shot to get a record, I would say let him try, it's not like we faked it and ran it in for a touchdown or something. But watching the brawl made me like Garrett a little more. I'm not a huge Garrett guy but one thing everyone could agree, I hope, is that Garrett has the team. Because I agree with you with Deion strutting off and Irvin holding Switzer's head and the blank look of Aikman. The fight was a symbolic microcosm of the Switzer Cowboys. Switzer had no control, Irvin was holding his head just as he and Deion symbolically held his hand through the media. Deion is strutting around cuz he shut down an injured receiving corps, Switzer was defensive and unclassy and the perfectionist/control freak Aikman shut off his emotions.

Makes me love Witten more and more. Witten today, after so many years in the league, is still the best TE we've had since Novacek. Bjornsen, Whalen, Lafleur, the dude from Atlanta that we traded for but didn't use, I can't remember his name. But all of them in their prime is not as good as a slowing down Witten.

OJ Santiago was the player I believe.

That team was toast. I can't imagine the frustration Aikman felt from being a part of that train wreck.
