This is my second crack at this so here I go....

Re-Sign
Rolando McClain
Greg Hardy
Mo-cost effective deal-He actually looked to be much better this season

FA-

Janoris Jenkins CB-This is a must, this kid has gotten better every year and would be worth every penny in the scheme we run.

Malik Jackson-Finally a guy to get pressure up the middle, takes pressure off of Crawford as well. Also has a ring now and can be a good mentor for Crawford.

Draft

1 - Carson Wentz-We get a future QB here to learn behind Romo, and can be a very capable backup in my opinon.

2 -Jaylon Smith-I really hope his injury makes him fall down this far, its hard to believe a talent like him will fall this far, but if he does, we take him and don't look back.

3-Alex Collins- This kid can flat out play, he runs hard, finishes runs, and keeps his pads low. Hes also very elusive for his size, and fits our scheme perfectly.

4-Sterling Shepard-Legacy pick here, and this kid can play as well. Very quick, good hands, and can be a welcome addition to our offense.

Thoughts?

Not too excited about your re-signs. Doubt J. Smith falls to our pick, but love the rest of your draft. If the draft works out that way, I wouldn't complain one bit.

Its hard because on his day McClain is a beast, the problem his mentally you never know. Claiborne is kind of just there as it holds off a need. A secondary of Church Jones Carr Scandrick Jenkins and Claiborne isn't that bad.

I'm wouldn't mind Mo back on a short prove it deal, if we are sticking with a man scheme. If we are going back to zone, and the Jenkins signing would point towards that, we would be better off moving on from both Carr and Mo. In that case, we would need another CB via FA, or the draft.

As far as Mcclain, I'm ready to move on. Mcclain is much too up and down on the field for me. I also still believe he intentionally failed that 2nd drug test because he didn't care about missing 4 games if he already wasn't getting paid. He then came into camp fat and out of shape, finally being in shape to play around week 9 or 10 at which point he was still up and down. He also doesn't fit great for the schem we want because he doesn't have the speed to reach the deep drops our LBs are asked to reach.

Hardy just wasn't a fit locker room wise. Showing up late constantly and the hand holding in the situation he was in does not give me confidence in re-signing him. I can't help but feel uneasy about how he would be when he feels secure here.

If you think about, the only reason Jaylon Smith would fall that far is because his knee is ruined and teams feel he won't be in the league long. What's the point of using a premium pick on him at that point?

Love the draft to fall that way but highly doubt Jaylon Smith falls to the 2nd but if he does it is the steal if the draft.

Isn't it all but done that Hardy won't be a Cowboy next year? I'd like Ro walk with him too personally. 2 of the most important/influential guys on D and neither guy is 100% about football.

I like the draft for the most part...Shephard is a nice player but I'm not sure he's on outside guy in the NFL. More of a slot wr which we already have covered. 3 of the 1st 4 picks being on offense would make me a little upset. Especially when the 1 defender most likely wouldn't even play 1/2 the season(at best).

I love the two outside FA signings and I think this is the year where we can actually afford to add a couple of solid pieces through FA. I don't think Hardy and Mcclain will be re-signed though. The draft looks good to me even though I don't want Wentz at 4.
