News: Moore: Carolina letting Hardy go should tell Cowboys that talent shouldn't always be deciding factor

Fans and the public do. Many fans around here want to get rid of him, opening up yet another hole that this team doesn't need. And some want to compound that error by turning around and using the #4 overall pick on Joey Bosa.

Totally agree. And if the worst thing he's doing is being late for a few meetings, I can live with the trade-off in on-field contributions. It's certainly more appealing than creating a need for pass rush.

The problem here is that he was a total disappointment on the field after his first few games. The fact remains that there's still a hole at pass rush even with Hardy because he was pretty much a non-factor down the stretch. Hardy had two sacks in his last 8 games.

Personally, I likely wouldn't bring him back unless the deal was exceptionally team friendly. It's one thing to put up with late appearances to team meetings and other small issues if the guy is producing like a Top 3 DE in football. But if he's not, he's just a distraction. And over the 2nd half of the season last year, he was apparenlty more a distraction and nuisance to the front office than a top flight pass rushign DE.

Just my view being late is not an excuse, this is a 4-12 team if there was a time for urgency this is it. I think this team needs to know that who is about winning and putting in the time and effort and who is out there doing their own thing. I think when you are competing for championship you can afford to cut some slack here and there but when you finish one of the worst in the league there is no room for slack.

Sorry if it looked like I was trying to make excuses for Hardy being late. I wish he wasn't either and wish he would appreciate what the Cowboys did for him a bit more.

So is your stance that you would or wouldn't want to bring Hardy back?

Undeniably true. I had hoped for more as well. But I think his oresence did help guys like Lawrence to have more success too. And that said, wasn't he still second on the team, despite playing 12 games?

Again, I can't deny that there are issues concerning him, and I agree about the team friendly deal. I just don't want to add yet another need for a team that has enough already.

The media has been an eye sore in Cowboys affairs for a very, very long time now. Cowlishaw has made a living by trying to stir the pot established by ESPN and FOX for the past decade. To them, it's all a matter of blame and fame...

Hardy is still young enough to get back to very top form. If he takes this off season to heart, he should line up and be worried about.

I agree the media isn't as "favorable" towards the Cowboys as they have in years past..I guess when you run out of things to hype
the only alternative is to take a page out of the wrestling playbook and turn heel!!! which is fine, I find Cowlishaw like the others to
be merely stooges who fumble over themselves as they drum new and exciting ways to try and keep everyone entertained by their
constant waffling commentary,

like this hypothetical scenario

Headline

Dallas releases Greg Hardy - the media no doubt comes out and begins to criticize us for doing it so just shows
you how hypocritical they are and why they don't mean a damn

Vikings keeping Peterson tells Cowboys talent is usually determining factor. We can play this game all day if you want.

My stance would be to sit him down and let him know how things will be from here on out and if he is willing to be part of that? I hate to treat grown men like children but when they act like it then so be it.
I would be willing to resign him as I said on an incentive bases if he willing to tow the line in terms of accountability, but I am adamant that just as Jimmy did when he came to Dallas these players need to know there is going to be little tolerance for guys who choose not to do what is asked of them by the team. Before anyone says how Jimmy cut some guys more slack than others that is true but not at the beginning only after guys started proving themselves as individual and as a team. I have a hard time looking at any player on a 4-12 team and think well he does not need to abide by the rules.

Oh god. Shut up.

Carolina also started 2-8-1 without him last year (won their first game with him).

While the point has merit, this is stupid evidence.

Happenstance. The Panthers aren't in the Super Bowl because they released Greg Hardy and the Cowboys didn't go 4-12 because they signed him.

CAR didn't "let him go". He was a FA after being Franchise Tagged for 13.1m in 2014.

The only option CAR had was tagging him again for 15.7m without his case being resolved. Not one owner in the world would have committed 16m to a player the league was trying to bury.

Jerry Richardson can cry all the crocodile tears he wants but the truth is Hardy was well liked by his teammates and coaches and was a force on the field.

The mediots just can't keep themselves from posturing at every opportunity. They won't be happy until Hardy is deported from the USA and Jerry begs their forgiveness...

Maybe they should just call in OSHA OR EMSHA, for caustic levels above the 50% Federal limits on solutions used in processing.
