News: Moore: Cowboys' Dez Bryant has screw inserted in foot; Question remains: How long will he be out?

IRVING â” A screw was inserted into Dez Bryant's right foot early Monday evening to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal.

It's too early to accurately project how long the Pro Bowl receiver will be out or detail how the Cowboys will secure their offense in his absence. But there are some time frames in place.

Head coach Jason Garrett and other club officials have announced that Bryant will be out four-to-six weeks. Sources said the front end of that projection is optimistic. Six week appears to be a more reasonable estimate, but those same sources concede Bryant could be out for up to eight weeks. That would push his return back into November.

When he is healthy he will play. It's pretty simple.

I would say closer to 8 weeks. The lood flow to that area slows the healing process. I hope he's back sooner than later.
