SCOUTS SAY:

"He's legit. People worry, because some Alabama corners haven't done well (in the NFL). He's better. He'll be fine. He's got the bloodlines.''...“He is the most complete corner I’ve seen come out of there. I’ve done Dre Kirkpatrick, Dee Milliner, Kareem Jackson. He can be a big-time player. He’s as violent as I’ve ever seen a corner be. He comes up to smack people. It’s rare to see a corner of his caliber that seeks contact. I guess a little of that comes from his dad.''...“He’s super-talented. He just doesn’t make plays on the ball. If he made plays on the ball he’d be the No. 1 guy on the list.”

Moreau -

SCOUTS SAY:
"He's not bad. He need to learn the game better. In the right system he'll do OK. But he'll get overdraft because of what he did at the Combine.''..."You can't teach, or coach, that kind of speed. And he has big-time speed. That's going to be his ticket. You can coach him up on how to cover better and all of that. I mean, he has some raw skills, but that speed is dangerous.''..."He can run, sure. But what did it get him? He barely made any plays and it's not like he took receivers out of the game, or anything.''

Tabor -

SCOUTS SAY:
"I knew he was slow when I watched him play, then he proved it. They say speed kills. His lack of speed killed him.''..."We had him in the second (round) and dropped him to the third. You can't play corner for us if you can't run. Maybe some teams will overlook it, we're not.''..."He has good ball skills and he's a pretty tough kid. I really wish he would have run faster.''

King -

SCOUTS SAY:
"Killed the Combine and made himself some money. He's OK. There are better in corners in the draft, but he'll go above some of them now because of what he did in Indy. Some teams never learn.''..."We have below the rest of those guys. He's big and he showed he's athletic. He's just not as good of a football player as the other (cornerbacks).''..."You watch him play and he's another guy. You put him in t-shirts and shorts and he's a star. With that said, you have to be kind of impressed with what he did (at the Combine).''

I see Lattimore, Humphries, Conley, King and maybe even White being gone before we pick

Scouts know that you really should trust the tape. If a guy wasn't a playmaker in college, it's hard to imagine him being a playmaker in the pros. I'm not saying it never happens, it's just rare.

Kevin King is a good prospect, but he's not a first round guy on film. Same with Obi. These guys are solid players on film, but not up the level you expect when you see them doing drills and testing. They are the kind that end up like Byron Jones. Solid, sometimes pretty good players. If you get those guys in the second or third round, you've hit. If you take them in the first, fans rebel. Although at 28 we should be expecting second round talent anyway - but fans don't think that way. They compare pick 1 (28) with pick 1 (8) when it's a lot closer to pick 2 (40).

Lol these things annoy me how smug these scouts are.
I agree!

Every report I read on one of these cbs is matter of fact and contradictory to the last one I read.

They readily admit that right now is when all these scouts state bs about these guys in hopes of scaring someone out of "overdrafting" him or getting others to pick the players they dont like by putting out tons of glowing reports etc.

I just hope we get a leaked dc board again after the fact this year, il be real curious to know the truth this year

I find these takes fascinating.

Not that they are always right, but there are a funny little clique that all think the same. At least these ones that supposedly talk to reporters, which I have my doubts a little.

This take was fascinating:

"He need to learn the game better"...

Really, really have warmed up to Conely. Think they will pick a DE in first, BUT, if they ended up with Conley I would be pretty happy. Think we need at least 2 CB's and a safety - as well as a RDE out of this draft. Whatever else they manage to pickup would be gravy...

Yeah I'd rather have Adoree but I wouldn't mind Conley at all.

I just can't get past how small he is - think he will always be banged up in the NFL. I get he has the talent, but just can't see him being our first pick at that size.

He's really a notch below 5'10. It's an issue but overblown imo.

He's just so athletic and competitive he can match up well with basically anyone, outside of like a Megatron type athlete.

Even still, i'll take him getting beat here and there because he's a game changer.

What do you mean "smug"?
It seems like if you aren't a top 10 pick they act like everyone else is overrated but cover themselves up by saying (but he has potential ) or some bs. And I don't like how these scouts aren't held accountable for their words because they're anonymous. I just don't like that personally.

There are corners his size that don't get hurt though.
