Duckett to Commanders? More signs that the Skins may have Running Back issues : G-MEN-IN-MIAMI : 8/21/06 11:33 PM
Steve Wyche of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports: "The Falcons remained in trade talks regarding tailback T.J. Duckett Monday, with the Washington Commanders being one of the potential trade partners, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Washington is among at least four teams that have contacted the Falcons about Duckett's availability..." That might be a sign that Clinton Portis' shoulder injury might keep him out of the first couple of games. It might also mean that Ladell Betts' hamstring isn't reacting to treatement. Betts carried 3 times for 9 yards vs. the Jets on Saturday but left before we could really rate him. He looked okay. Either way, we wondered why Duckett stayed in late vs. New England in Atlanta's first exhibition, beating up on scrubs. Now we know: Jim Mora was showcasing him.
