So, after getting burned twice, he cheapshot tackles the guy in a non-contact practice. Color me not impressed.

Sometimes when one colors, it is OK to go outside the lines.....so some are't impressed with the art work, but it gets the job done and sends a message...we will be tough...
I would rather see that, then a nicely painted picture that just hangs on the wall and does nothing.

Just for clarification, he did score a 4 out of 30 on the Wonderlic -- that's worse than Vince Young.

The 'Boys gave up the 45th pick, and exchanged the 14th for the 6th (overall). So they really only lost the 45th pick, and moved up 8 spots on the other.

Mo received $16.4 mil guaranteed over 4 yrs, with $10.3 mil bonus. Contract runs through next year, with an option on 2016.

Exactly. Mo is showing he's improved his attitude and play in TC, he was out for a bit, but now he's back. That's a big plus there too. This is what TC is for, and then elevate it to the regular season [oh, we will get the show me posts here].
But for some of these fans it's not enough. They can't be happy or support a player that is trying to improve, and has improved. Yet all they can do is whine. They can't see or understand the concept of one as well a team really can improve. But it starts in camp. they need to be happy the effort is there, but for some reason they are not.

Ive never cared what anyone thinks when I post something enthusiastic, the doubters always seem to be doubters, I just really cant live my life always in doubt, I choose to look for anything positive even when the chips are down.
Having said that, I have always considered myself to be a very realistic fan as well, and typically very reserved when I post, but I think most doubters are going to be in for a shock this season.
I expect around week 7-8 that this no name defense actually starts to come around, and start playing cohesively as a unit, and start disproving all the nay sayers, ya its just my hunch, but I have been following every aspect of this team for 4 decades, and have a good feel for upswings.

And then had to step over him and preen like a fool. Seems like a fake tough-guy act to me, just like with T-Will earlier.

He can do 100x more for himself by actually being tough and not getting dinged up every other week.

I'm not encouraged by it.

Until he shows up on the field he may as well be DeAngelo Hall who's talk and demeanor never matched his play.

I think he's playing it up a bit too much.

And if he doesn't play tough, people will say he doesn't care or he's soft/weak.

Some will never be happy.

Did anybody notice on that play they are still using Wilber as a DE on the weakside?
He took multiple snaps at DE in the game. Garrett said he can play both positions.

He would be off the field in the Nickel as a LB. That makes him available as a Nickel DE.

If I had any issue with the tackle, it would be him stepping over the guy being tackled. If may read as silly to anyone who has not played football, but tackled players do not appreciate having someone else's crotch or buttocks running over their helmet or facemask.

I'll save this judgement until he actually does something in a real game . Looks like he already got injured in practice today .

Maybe we can get some real leadership on the defense now. Lee was starting to show it, but with him out, some players need to step up. I think there are a few doing that.

Lee was never was starting anything. He showed leadership from the first time he laced up his cleats.

The best thing that could have happened for Claiborne is Scandrick getting suspended. I honestly think Claiborne would have taken the job back had he not gotten hurt again. With Scandrick continuing to play well, and Claiborne getting hurt, it was again Scandrick's job.

Now he is healthy again and will have the job for at least 4 weeks. That can allow him a confidence boost and possibly let him keep the job. That's what we need to happen. If it does, this CB corps has the chance to be something.

Carr is what he is; he is very good if you play all press-man. Unfortunately, this D line may be so bad press-man might go out the window again.

Or he could get burned by the 49'ers and lose all confidence. Again.

Perhaps I am forgetting, but isn't this the same guy that scored an absurdly low wonderlic and stated that he didn't take it seriously ?

I would be concerned about him being seriously commited. He was interviewing for a dream job...but doesn't take it seriously ?

3-13 and DEAD LAST.....

i hope for the best with him but I am not going to say he has flipped the switch after one play of him throwing down a guy when practicing vs another team.

This. If he transforms into anything I hope it is a consistently durable football player who plays to his talent level.

Was that Scandrick or Claiborne I don't remember.

I was just alluding to the fact that one of his problems last year was that he lost all confidence. We won't know how he's going to react this year once he gets burned a few times.
