He's been horrible, maybe he'll get it someday, but right now we're better off just going with Scandrick.

horrible? He covered his guy well the whole game and that PI was questionable. The defense wasn't at fault here. 17 points and we lose the game? Kansas had excellent field position and the defense kept them from scoring several times.

I can already tell you he won't be the type of CB worthy of drafting in the Top-10. He could still be a decent NFL CB but with a Top-10 pick, you're expecting Champ Bailey/Charles Woodson greatness and we haven't seen ANYTHING to say he's got that potential or even be as good as Newman was from 2003-2006

If you're "excepting" Bailey or Woodson from a top 10 pick, then you really don't understand the NFL draft.

I was really excited about trading up to get Claiborne, because I thought he would be a great man coverage corner in Rob Ryan's scheme, but us moving to a tampa 2 4-3, I can't help but think that the guy is too soft and injury prone for this scheme. His value in this defense certainly dropped a notch in the change between systems. I really didn't want to think that Claiborne could be another Mike Jenkins, but that is exactly what he is looking like right now.

Obviously we'll have to wait and see how things develop for him over the course of the season, but I hope the front office is able to get the most value out of him if the time comes to trade him. Not only does he seem to not fit our scheme, but it looks as though we're bending our scheme towards his talents and playing a lot more man coverage than we probably would have otherwise.

We've put a lot of money into the idea of having cover corners, yet here we are still giving up a ton of yards on the pass. At some point we're going to have to shift funds from the secondary towards the defensive line in this scheme.

Uh the defensive line looks fantastic including the backups.

He is a bad fit for the scheme.
I wish Dallas could get a 1st rounder for him. I suspect he'll be a good player someday...and I don't blame him.

Never liked giving up a mid st and a 2nd for him...even less so with this scheme

Claiborne did not do anything wrongs. That PI call was BS. The refs cost us a chance to have a game winning drive.

Well historically not many CBs get drafted in the Top-10...that's why you expect to hit on that pick if you think there's a CB worthy of taking. And the Cowboys did that thinking Claiborne would be one of the best CBs in the game. Not only that but they traded UP for him

If you're taking a CB that high, he better be an All-Pro caliber player

Basically those guys come around maybe once every 7 - 8 years.

There have been 4 super-elite CBs drafted since 1987: Rod Woodson, Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, and Champ Bailey. That's 4 in 26 years. If you consider Revis in that category (and I don't) once every 5 years.

Who was catching passes on the Chiefs on Mo? We held them to 17 points. The only bad play on Mo was that questionable pass interference. The defense held them to 17 points, even after the offense turning the ball over and KC having great field position all day.

He hasn't played up to his pick yet but he has not become a massive liability, is not a headcase and the talent is there. Hopefully he pulls it all together shortly. We're in relatively good shape with Carr and Claiborne as our top two CBs

If you're trading two high picks in a loaded draft to get someone you've rated as the top defensive player overall, you're expecting him to have a similar impact. Let's not move the target here: he was drafted with the idea in mind that he would be a top 10 or even top 5 DB, he's hasn't even flashed that kind of talent for a second.

Another missed draft choice.
