Kinda feel sorry for the guy. It's extremely tough to redeem yourself once you've bombed after being hyped as the 2nd coming of Deion Sanders, only to bomb. Ouch! I'm pretty sure he's sorely embarassed and then some.

So the need was so strong that we did it right after giving Carr one of the more iron clad guaranteed contracts in existence? That alone is about as big of a flub as anything else. They were hell bent on getting Ryan his cornerbacks and were not going to stop until they thought they killed the position. Cap health and depth across the roster were secondary concerns.

Guess you forgot that Jenkins was hurt and wasnt rehabbing at valley ranch, and Scanrick was really suspect. I dont understand how you people post all this and dont even know or dont want to remember what was going on with the team in your posts.

Claiborne gets way too much hate in these posts. Terrence Mitchell is not going to take his spot, either.

I doubt that he takes his position. By the way, is Mo still second string? I know he lost his starting position, but I haven't read if he has got his job back this offseason. Serious question.

You can't look up these things yourself? Do you need me to hold your hand next time you make poopy? He mentions character issues in your link, I didn't make it up!

Yup, sounds like another troll making up history. Good to know.

At this point I see Claiborne as one of those guys that's just going to receive a lot of hate from the fans regardless of pretty much whatever he does. When you combine his very unsensational first 2 seasons with the trade up to take him at #6 overall, it's just too easy for the Jerry haters to point their pitchforks at Claiborne and do their thing.

Even if Mo has a very very good 2014 season by normal standards, he'll still get dumped on around these parts.

That us where you are wrong. Expectations were high considering the trade up for him, but he could have the support of fans if he had at least shown flashes that are expected from . Injuries or not, there hasn't been a game that can be pointed to and used as example of the high level of play that is expected of him. He hasn't give the fans a reason to have hope for him in the future. So far, he has shown that he is a soft player that can't cover of tackle. That perception is his own fault and nobody else's.

Nope. To fit in here you have to say he is the epitome of suckiness.

This board has always had more than its fair share of sunshine pumping. To disagree with the homer opinions meant that a poster would be labeled as a troll, negative or even a fan of another team. Your statement is a pathetic attempt at playing a victim. I don't see you being labeled in the same ways as the "realist" for sharing your pro-Mo opinion as long as you have a valid reason for that opinion instead.

No interceptions = not a good game right?

Who am I tolling you dope? You responded to me!

You say that Dez wasn't "universally praised," but refuse to provide any evidence to backup your point, whereas I did. Yes, "character" issues were brought up about Dez, just like Claiborne's Wonderlic score was discussed. Regardless, virtually every expert I remembering reading in 2010 lauded the Dez pick. Either way, your "I'm scared of picks that are praised" point is silly and baseless.

Too many of these guys think they are Deion. Guess what, you're not. Piece of advice, button the lip, work your *** off and let your play speak for itself. Otherwise I don't give two craps out of the left nostril what you have to say.

normally I don't like when a player starts talking S before they actually do it but in Mo situation...I actually think its a good idea. He obviously suffered some confidence issues and this is first step toward rebuilding his blue chip pre-draft status.

It's funny how we're willing to give some a chance, but not others. Dude was hurt, you play hurt, you're gonna suck. Especially playing that position, there's no room for error. So we'll see what he can do this year, but this goes for all underachievers on this team, because 8-8 means most of this team sucks.

He shouldn't have to provide proof of those claims. You are a regular poster here and you should remember the criticism that came along with the pick. Many expected his off the field issues would prevent his talent from ever showing on the field. I remember it well.

That is a good point, but let's not make it out to be that Claiborne was the team's only option at CB. I was happy that we ended up with him at the time, but I was also one of the ones clamoring for Janoris Jenkins. Casey Hayward was also a popular option among fans at the time.

The hate Claiborne gets on this forum is unwarranted. We haven't seen enough of him to know what type of NFL career he will have. HE has some things to work on. He needs to get stronger. He needs a training camp.

I thought Jenkins had too many off the field issues at the time, but I would have rather drafted Jenkins than traded up for Mo. I think there was so many lost opportunities in that draft class that could have went a long way in filling the holes on this team. Garrett has gotten credit for great drafts since he became coach, but one look at this draft erases all the praise that he has been given. That draft really hurt the team IMO. It hurt the team in more ways than can be counted.

We had the worst secondary in the league a year prior. They signed Brandon Carr and drafted the best corner in the draft. They made the right move.
