Carr had Nelson in a box in the '15 playoff game, but Jordy Nelson lines up almost exclusively at Flanker from what I've seen. That puts him across from Claiborne, who always lines up on the left.

Jordy's averaging 10 targets a game, so Claiborne WILL be tested. He's tied for the league in TD receptions.

Who wins this match-up?

I don't think Nelson goes over 100 yards. I see him getting 75 yards or less. IMO-- that's a win for Mo.

Mo wins,,, but it's Cobb we have to worry about. Can Carr/Brown handle Cobb?

vs the Giants:

WR Randall Cobb, Packers — When Rodgers needed a play to be made, he found Cobb. Cobb beat the Giants all night, catching nine passes for 108 yards. He was able to find space operating against the Giants cornerbacks lower on the depth chart, as Jordy Nelson was covered by Janoris Jenkins most of the night.

With Nelson still probably not fully confident running and Mo's confidence through the roof we are in for a good match up.

Nelson looks like a shell of his former self at this point.

He is 31 years old and recovering from missing an entire season with a torn ACL.

His speciality has always been the deep ball. He's actually one of the best ever, statistically, at going deep. I think those days are over.

I think Claiborne can handle the current version of Jordy Nelson.

Don't understand why people talk about this bum like he is the 2nd coming of Rice or Moss, he had a few good/great years with a great QB to work with. That's it.

Cobb got banged up pretty good last weekend and has missed a couple practices this week. I think we will see AR looking for Nelson all day with Cobb and both RB's not at 100%.

A few years ago he broke both Rice's, Moss's, and a couple of other guys (I think Bob Hayes) record for the most 70+ TD receptions in NFL history.

My $0.02 is Nelson has been unfairly categorized as a system WR and that his success was based on the greatness of Rodgers.

Last year Nelson missed the year and Rodgers's QB rating dropped 20 points.

Maybe Nelson wasn't just a system WR.

I think they will move jordy around a lot but I like the matchup with Mo checking him when he does. Frankly my biggest concern is Anthony Brown against whoever is in the slot. Pretty much any of the Packer WRs can line up there and he will be the one tested - I think AR will go after him early and often. Davante Adams has killed us before in this matchup (I.e., against our 3rd corner) so I think we would do well to hit him with an LB any chance we get as he comes into his routes...and have LBs clog the crossing lanes in their drops to try and snag a pick or two. Then let Brown play with some controlled agression as he's been doing thus far. But that slot matchup (and to the TE) will be the keys to their passing attack...esp since those are easier throws for Aaron to hit as he looks to get back ok track. We win there and I think we win the game handily.

Definitely not a system WR.
he would thrive in any system.
Big, fast, great route runner and hands.

Is Scandrick not playing?

He's not a system WR, but he has benefitted a lot from playing with GB.

I think Jordy is a great receiver, but he did not receive the same kind of coverage top guys in the NFL have.

There's plenty to like in Nelson for sure. If he's fully recovered, he could be troublesome but I'm thinking this version of Mo should at least cut into his productivity enough to hinder him somewhat. How much remains to be seen.

True.
he's not quite as explosive as a Julio Jones. Though few are.

As an example
he's slightly bigger than Dez and runs slightly faster. Runs better routes, but Dez has a higher vertical.
Pretty sure Dez has gotten double teamed more over the years

A bloodbath if Rodgers has as much time as he did against the Giants.

Claiborne turned his ankle in practice (yesterday?) so hopefully it was nothing serious and will be 100% come Sunday
