Morris Claiborne wants to play this week in what could be his final game in Cowboys uniform

IRVING
Morris Claiborne wants to play this week. He wants to come back next season, too.

But he admits he doesn’t know whether either will happen.

Claiborne missed two games with a hamstring injury, returned for two games and has missed the past two games with the same injury. He said “no matter what the record looks like” he wants to play Sunday in what amounts to a meaningless game.

“There’s a good chance of [playing] as of now,” Claiborne said Tuesday. “It’s just taking it day by day in practice this week to see how I feel. If I can be out there, I’m going to be out there.”...

I wanna see Mitchell and the other CB, Ovaleye (I don't care what his name is).

I'm kinda torn on bringing him back or not. I know the always 'for the right price' mantra..but I guess it really applies here. I could see some team throwing a lot more guaranteed cash at him then Stephen is willing too.

I tend to view similarly. He would add to a deep and strong cornerback group. He doesn't have to be top dog, only pointed in that direction.

It'll apply. I would love Jenkins but he may cost twice as much. Not sure the FO wants to dish out that kind of cash for another CB.

Sometimes it's best for both sides to cut ties.

Kinda like Terrance Newman.

No interest whatsoever. Grab a paper bag and breathe into it. We'll be fine at cornerback. We don't need to add another veteran salary.

Broaddus thought he might want to leave FWIW. That's OK by me.

Yeah, I think you have to look past where he was drafted and what it took to draft him at that spot. I know that's difficult for some to overlook, since he.s a bust in that regard.

This is true...but I find that hard with talent and a tough positional group to fill with valid NFL level players.

Deep and strong cb group?? I know you don't mean dallas lol

Oh, I definitely do...with Scandrick, Carr, and Claiborne all capable of at least being solid players at position. Add a top of chart additional cornerback at the top of the next draft, and possibly a top shelf cornerback in free agency, and this group soars as to positional value. The cap and draft position will support all of this.

I don't expect carr or mo back next year.

He could help our draft prospects, so by all means let him start.
