Before I board this (extremely discounted) flight, let me remind you that the final Hash Mock Draft will be released Friday at 8 a.m. ET. I'll be making a brief appearance at Grey Dog Coffee in Greenwich Village at 10 a.m. to explain my selections in case anyone's interested.

Now, here are a few things to ponder while I'm en route:

Cousin McShay still has Matt Ryan going to the Falcons in his seven-round mock draft, but I don't think it's going to happen. I think he falls to the Ravens at No. 8. And what if the Ravens get cute (smart) and trade down to No. 10, allowing the Saints to jump ahead of the Bengals and select USC defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis? Would Mel Kiper Jr. still make good on his promise to walk off the set if the Ravens actually select Ryan at No. 10? It's worth considering. One more thing: I think the Ravens like Ryan Clady more than Branden Albert.
This is not a good draft for wide receivers. I think Michigan State's Devin Thomas will be first off the board, but No. 11 is way too early. I realize the Bills desperately need a viable No. 2 receiver, but they'd be better off taking one of the elite cornerbacks at No. 11. Or take Derrick Harvey out of Florida. He'd be an immediate impact player. Thomas is still a project, and you don't take projects at No. 11 in the draft.
If Leodis McKelvin or Mike Jenkins slips to No. 22, the Cowboys will take him. They've made it clear that the trade for Pacman Jones will not affect their approach to this draft. If Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is available, a huge debate would ensue. I'm told that the scouts are split on this talented player. And the fact that he's playing with one kidney doesn't help. I think McKelvin and Jenkins will be long gone, so the Cowboys will decide between running backs Jonathan Stewart and Felix Jones. At No. 28, the Cowboys are in love with Brandon Flowers, the cornerback out of Virginia Tech.

If DRC is available, and a debate ensues, and the "don't take him" side of the debate wins ... I will pull all of my hair out.

Cowboys have said in the media that they were in love with lots of other past players but decided to pass on them. Ex: Stephen Jackson

I would be thrilled with Flowers at #28. To me he is the best corner in the draft when watching the actual football games. I understand in the underwear olympics in Indianapolis he is downgraded but I will take the actual evidence on the field

lol, they'll probably make my day by selecting Felix at 22 and Flowers at 28. I'd just turn off the TV at that point and go to bed.

If we past on DRC, at this point, that would really suck. I think now, if Adam comes in and does what he's suppose to, then DRC doesn't have to be more than the 4th corner for at least a year, while he gets his game legs under him for the NFL.

This, to me, could turn out to be the ideal situation in which to get a player like DRC.

If they're deciding between stewart and felix jones, and we pick felix jones...I'll punch myself in the face. :bang2:

Mosley's been dead right about our pick for the last several years. That's partly because he's had Jerry Jones himself as his source.

I don't recall the cowboys saying they were in love with Jackson...I remember all of the cowboys FANS saying they were in love with jackson.

Word I remember during and post draft was that they thought he ran too upright and did not want to draft him and have to deal with the Postons (Jacksons agents at the time). If they did not trade down the back they were going to take was Kevin Jones.

I'll be punching myself in the face if we take either at 22, but I may punch harder if it's Felix.

I think Mosley has a good source.

DRC and McKelvin surely won't be there, so that leaves Mike Jenkins, Jonathan Stewart and Felix Jones as the most likely choices at 22.

If Jenkins is picked at 22, then Jones might still be there at 28, or they trade down.

If a RB is picked at 22, then Flowers seems likely at 28, again, unless they trade down.

This year though, i think there will be a run a CB's in the mid rounds, and i would hate to see him go early just because someone ran there mouth.

I remember reading that Jerry told Stephen Jackson if he was available when Dallas picks that the Cowboys would draft him. Stephen wanted to come here.

Get a couple of Miller Lite's down Lacewell and he'd give you his mother's social security number.

There is a difference between a team loving someone and telling a person he would be coming here.

For example. Many may not know this but the cowboys actually sent someone to Huntingtion/Nitro area of WV during one draft to make everyone think they were taking Randy Moss. Randy Moss believed he was the pick until the name was announced for Ellis.

Now for the draft you speak of. Bill told Julius Jones that if we did not take a running back in the first, he would be their pick.
