If we don't get a trade partner in the next few weeks, absolutely.

Greg Ellis has never been shy about creating drama each and every offseason for the past half decade, so I don't see where we owe him the courtesy of giving him the best chance to find his next NFL home.

That said, I would be surprised if Jerry Jones actually decided to play hardball. He will probably cave, just as he has always done to this player.
I agree 100%, screw Greg, and yes, Jerry can be called soft, or a good guy, but i agree he probably won't ***** Ellis.

How? I didn't know the Eagles played in a 3-4.

First things first, Greg Ellis was a 4-3 DE before Parcells changed him into an OLB, The Beagles play a 4-3, so he would fit into their scheme without a hitch.

Second point, consider the source in which this "breaking news" came from... Rotoworld..

I don't think there ever was anything "news" involved with this. It was a snippet derived from a Mosley chat. That's it.

Nine times out of ten, it is speculation you see posted on Rotoworld, Pro Football Talk, KFFL, whatever.

Why people constantly neglect to apply that standard to today's internet age, I will never know.

Simple rule. Google everything. If you don't get any less than ten separate validations from separate sources, it is gossip.

Why? It would mean more passes for Witten and Bennett. They would eat Ellis alive.

What makes you think any other team would be stupid enough to put Ellis or an linebacker to guard receivers, especially that of the caliber of Witten.

Just because our stupid defensive scheme last year put Ellis in a position to fail being a cover does not mean that other teams will try this with an ancient like Ellis.

Are you that clueless or were expecting someone to bite on that?
That is really awesomely clueless. Other teams are not that stupid.

If i were Jerry, i'd let Ellis sit till late July, right before camp to see if anyone gets hurt training. We stand to gain nothing by letting him go now. Let him stew for the next two months.

Great scenario. I wholeheartedly agree. Ellis has shown his lack of loyalty on several occasions. His time has come to an end if we come out of camp unscathed.

As to the scenario, even a blind dog finds an acorn sometimes. Boil that acorn first so it will be more edible.

Tell us what you really think.

Every team is looking to create mismatches. Not every play but a lot of them esp with the TEs and RBs.

You make a valid point about research, but my mother told me believe half or what you read, and the rest is BS. and there is much truth to that statement. Rotoworld has a tendency to push the envelope before anyone else to "scoop" other reporting agencies.

Personally I could care less if Greg goes to the Eagles, let them give him his cheese with that whine of his.

See it with your own eyes is my way of perceiving things as truth or rumors.

I have no reason to believe, at this point, that our OL will be better than last year, and that's going to make for a long season.

This is a huge concern of mine as well (and has been for 3 years)...

I doubt that the Eagles sign Ellis, for one they normally stay away from old players, they don't seem to like going after guys once they get over the 30 year old mark. And two with his age, and what he will want in salary, I doubt they will be interested...

That would really piss me off.

Me too... There's so much wrong with one of our guys going to the immediate enemy... Forget the fact that he'll be able to scoop their defense on our offensive tendencies. If our OC is half the coach some prop him up to be that shouldn't be an issue. It's the principle of the fact that one of our guys is going to the iggles... The freaking iggles... That's just wrong IMO. If he had any sense he would turn that down if the offer was ever made. Hasn't he seen their trophy case?

If it becomes apparent that he will end up in Washington or Philly, I have a strong feeling Dallas won't release him.

They will find a non-NFCE trading partner or they will hold on to him.

There really isn't that much of a downside to having him in Dallas for one more season.

Especially if it means weakening us and strengthening a divsional rival.

I want nothing to help the enemy. But there is another side to it. I don't see him helping more than a year. So a contract more than a year helps us some cap wise. Assuming that's important anymore.

I think they may have to if he's yapping again. And if Butler and Williams are the real deal then we actually don't need him. IF. It'll be ok but I'd prefer him not to go to the East.

I totally get what Hos was saying money wise and developing our new draft picks. I just have a bit of a trust issue with Spencer that I may get over quickly if he actually shows some consistency thru TC and into the pre-season.

I am all for getting rid of Ellis but most definitely NOT to a division rival.

I would rather deal with his crap for another year than for that to happen.

I want to keep Ellis. If he get released and signs say in Philly, he will be a situational pass rushing DE and I don't want to see that.

Ellis' biggest whine is about wanting to be a starter. I don't think he'll accept a situational role unless he has to.
