Looks like most of the starters are gonna sit, cant say that disappoints me at all. I think we've seen what we needed to see from most people. Cant afford anymore injuries:
Cowboys' WR Williams ruled out for Thursday

Moments ago, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said during his daily news conference that he'll hold wide receiver Roy Williams (shoulder) out of Friday's game in Minnesota. That means that Williams and quarterback Tony Romo will begin the regular season without having spent much time together in game action. Will it matter? Maybe not, but the Cowboys made a big deal out of Romo and Williams needing to be on the same page heading into the season. The good news for Cowboys fans is that Williams will return to practice this week.
Phillips also ruled out wide receiver Sam Hurd, who has been nursing a bruised quadriceps and might not practice this week. If this were a regular-season game, I think both players would be available. With Williams and Hurd out, undrafted rookie Kevin Ogletree will have another chance to shine. It's too early to know exactly what Ogletree's going to become, but it's encouraging that he seems to be very comfortable in game situations.
In unrelated news, the Cowboys released rookie offensive tackle Andre Douglas on Monday. In order to get down to 75 players on the roster today, the Cowboys will likely put one of their rookies (Robert Brewster or Brandon Williams) on the physically unable to perform list or on injured reserve.
And as we continue to track to track the most brittle draft class in club history, linebacker Jason Williams (No. 69 overall) will be out four to six weeks with an ankle injury, according to Phillips.
One more thing: Phillips strongly hinted that the starters -- namely Romo -- will not play against the Vikings. That sounds like a good idea to me.
