Why didn't you post Dak's stats, passer rating and QBR from Game 9 - Game 16 after the Amari Cooper trade where Dak finally had a true #1 WR to throw to, plus the Oline was slowly getting healthier, there was an Oline coaching change, the backup TEs finally started getting some game-starting experience and our rookie #2 WR finally started gelling with Dak? Oh, I get it, it doesn't fit your narrative, eh?

Plus, why didn't you mention Dak's passer and QBR ratings during the playoffs when it mattered most? Oh, what were they? Ranked Top 5 in passer rating and #1 in QBR? Funny how you forgot to mention those facts.

I’m not saying Dak sucks but your post proves his point. Basically you are saying Dak needs a #1 WR, an All Pro line, a #1 TE and a top RB to succeed! I pretty much could say that about 31 other QBs in the league. And why would you pay franchise money to a QB who can’t elevate without all that?

fact...you, yes you said the first half of the season most of the OL was INJURED. FACTS, only Fredrick was injured...now you are spinning things into this OL didn't play well and that OL man didn't play well...blah blah blah...like I said, Dak needs an all time OL as you are confirming to play well, otherwise having an OL like 90% of rest of NFL, isn't good enough for him...

so FACTS again...your post, your words, not mine...the first half of the season MOST of the OL wasn't injured. so quit making things up.

Dak actually has a winning record when forced to play behind backups, but it's still not good enough to make noise in the playoffs. How did Aaron Rodgers do playing last year with backups and older players? Not so good. How did Troy play his last few years without the best Oline in NFL history, no Michael Irvin and no previous SB talented players? One can argue that Tom Brady has carried his team to SB wins without top talent, but what do you call Edelman, Gronk and other pretty good receivers? Plus, Brady has always had a pretty good Oline protecting him up front. He's also had above average RBs. The point is... all good QBs need pretty good talent and a good Oline around them to be successful.

FACT...the Oline struggled all season, worse than 2017 and definitely 2016.

FACT...Dak is here to stay for a very long time. Deal with it.

The O line ranked in the 20's in pass protection.

may have had a little to do with things.

OL struggled or not is whole other debate..

you said, most of the OL was injured the first half of the year. which is an other fake statement...but you are trying to spin your way out of it...its like you are in quick sand, just come out and say you were wrong about the injuries and lets debate the OL performance

This information isn't close to being a "bottom-line" metric for QB, and doesn't even claim to be. It's basically weighted completion percentage, but leaving out TD and INT. It rewards QB who take risks without punishing them for the risks that don't pay off, giving you results such as Newton > Brady, Mariota > Rodgers, Winston > Roethlisberger, etc.

The article says the formula treats drops the same as completions, while also "stripping out" spikes, throwaways, QB hits, and batted passes. But what it doesn't say is that the formula also "strips out" interceptions. If you're only interested in completion percentage adjusted for target depth, but don't care about TD/INT, then Newton was a Top 10 passer in 2018.
