19 Carries for
72 Yards
1 Touchdown
Less than 4 yards a carry.
Doesnt anyone realize that we held the leagues best RB to under 4 ypc and under 100 yards.
We are supposed to have a young defense that is just beginning to gel, but Roy and the CB's never let LT spring one outside. The CB's played the run great.
Also another stat that isnt quite in our favor is the kickoff team.
That little Darren Sproles almost took it to the house about 3 times just on kickoff. Thank God we have Jose Cortez. I would still like to see a few starters on ST especially kickoff because we cant rely on Cortez to make those tackles.

But, I don't think he is all that people make him out to be. Fantasy Football has turned him into something he isn't.

In the last two years, teams have held LT to 81 yards or fewer, almost half the time.

I think LT is overrated, just like Clinton Portis.

It wasn't overlooked. It was discussed ad nauseum. In fact, it was noted as one of the keys to the win. If Ware had not made dumb Rookie mistakes and gotten trapped inside so much, LT would have only had about 55 yards!

They reason his stats werent as good last year is due to Gates being on the field IMO which is stealing his stats, still I like him just as much as JuJo at RB. LT is still one of the best in the biz despite the passing O they have in SD.

More important than containing Tomlinson as a rusher, I think, was the fact that he didn't have a single catch (for the first time in his career). He averages almost five catches per game, and making him a total nonfactor in the passing game was huge.

We were 100 percent efficient in three games last year, but we weren't 4-for-4 in those.

I like it when our offense can punch it in from anywhere from the 50 in. Something our offense couldnt do with Glenn hurt but this year we actually have an offense

We only had two sacks for the game (only 2 sacks last year would have been a bonanza), but we were forcing LT to stay in on passing downs to pick up the Dallas rush. You don't always have to get the sack to have an effective pass rush. The fact LT had no catches and had to block all day is a good example of that.

Bingo ! We have a winner. We have been so bad in the red zone the last couple of years it's almost comical.

I didn't even notice this until after the game... how the heck did we manage to do that? Did we make him block all the time? Who was covering him out of the backfield? Was SD dumb enough not to try to get the ball to him in the passing game? We have been awful against screens for years now, never mind a back that can run routes.

How Tomlinson didn't do more is an absolute mystery to me. Without Gates I thought that they would feed him all day.

it does seem strange, but the fact LT only had 7 carries reportedly in the second half shows the SD coaching staff may have misplayed their hand Sunday. LT was their best offensive player, and only got 7 touches the entire second half? that's a gameplanning, playcalling oversight of major magnitude!
