The Broncos were picking on him and Carroll in the first 2 quarters and it was obvious. That very well may be the case. There was a reason Hitchens was the starter.
You'd expect Zeke to get more than 8 yards on his first 9 carries. The running game wasn't even tried. Linehan.
You'd expect more playaction when they had 9 in the box and misdirection, but Linehan played it as dumb as a chess player with down syndrome. You'd expect Zeke to get more than 8 yards on his first 9 carries.
I want to agree with a lot of this but I struggle to get past the second paragraph where you basically absolve Prescott of blame. He was bad. Why do people struggle with that concept?
Doesn't mean he's a bad QB or his career is over. He had a real bad game today. There is nothing wrong with admitting that.
This game dispelled the theory that our OL has the ability to line up and run it against anybody. You'd expect more playaction when they had 9 in the box and misdirection, but Linehan played it as dumb as a chess player with down syndrome.
No disrespect to down syndrome peeps. I do love you.
True Dat, but now what? This game dispelled the theory that our OL has the ability to line up and run it against anybody.
I wouldn't draw any conclusions about pass offense after two games against the two best pass D's in the NFL a year ago.True Dat, but now what?
They've been trying to expand Dak's game and it's not working.
I know... I know: they've played some great D's, but this team needs some successes to reply upon and we don't need them going into the 2nd quarter of the season in offensive disarray.
You are all over Dak and while I agree he did not have a great game he also got no help. A mediocre QB can do well when his line blocks and his receivers make plays for him. Dez had two easy drops, one that went for an int. Butler had a drop. Witten had a dropped TD despite having a good game otherwise. Dez and everyone says to throw to him even when covered and he will make the play. Except he really doesn't anymore.
Ultimately there was no run game. THere was very little time to pass, Dak was pressured on almost every throw. He did hold onto the ball too long on a couple plays and some were just a matter of him not reading the pressure.
Assigning blame, I would go about 40 pct on OL, 30 pct on Dak, about 20 pct on Elliott not giving a damn, and the rest on the WR's. Group effort to be sure.
We may have the worst fans in the NFL
1. Dez is no longer elite WR. NE has proven you don't really need true #1 if QB play is exceptional. So I am not totally alarmed that he is tier 2 WR at this stage. What does concern me is $17mill price tag.
2. Teams have adjusted to Dak. He might not be top QB we all hoped for but I still see guy fighting to very end. Thats good enough for me as long as their RB & DEF is good.
3. Jaylon Smith was really bad. I can't believe people aren't talking about this. Maybe its just such a feel good story no one wants to discuss it. I watched him very closely. Can't shed blockers, was sitting back and waiting for RB to initiate contact. Might be seeing some muscle fatigue as I saw him literally crumble to ground chasing RB. To be fair Lee and entire defense looked slow and tackled poorly. But I do believe this defense needs Hitchens back.
4. Tank is really good when healthy.
5. I am done with Jeff Heath.
Sorry this couldn't be more positive but this is where I am at right now.

1. Dez is not used properly but he still has a lot of value.
2. Dak will be fine, maybe not elite, but an Alex Smith type QB at least.
3. Smith is a liability out there but might as well let him work through it with that putrid secondary.
4. Agreed
5. Agreed
But I do believe this defense needs Hitchens back.
Dez got a **** ton of targets today. Some of them were poor throws. That part isn't Dez fault.
I think Dak showed the poorest decision making today that he has in some time. This **** of forcing the ball to Dez to "get him going" is just a futile game plan and counter productive.
Dez is a big play WR who needs a big play QB. That isn't Dak right now. Still I think people are being a bit hard on Dez - he is doing what he is supposed to.Dez has never been elite.
I am talking about the routes Dez runs mostly. It is either a go-route or a fade with an occasional slant or comeback. I want him to line up in the slot, get some quick passes with room for YAC. Dez is great running with the ball in his hands but it is rare to see him catch it in motion with room to run.
Again, I don't blame Dez for anything, that is on the coaches.
People should be all over Dak. He was bad today. Again, why do people have issues with admitting that? Why do people have to couch their soft criticism of Dak by making sure to blame everyone else too?
He stunk today. It's not hard to admit that. Doesn't mean I hate him or think he's an overrated QB. It just means he sucked today.
My son thanks youYou'd expect more playaction when they had 9 in the box and misdirection, but Linehan played it as dumb as a chess player with down syndrome.
