We all probably have seen movies that were panned by movie critics but we throughly enjoyed watching. What about a movie that was critically praised but you did not like?

The reason I ask is because back at my birthday, my aunt and I went to the movies (we have done this every year for the last 10 or 12 years) and when we went to choose a movie, there really wasn't anything that jumped out at us to go see playing but we decided to pick a movie that had a good review to go see. That movie was Stranger Than Fiction. We found that movie to be boring and a waste of time.

I wanted to find out if there were any movies you have seen that was critically praised by movie critics but you thought was awful or just plain boring.

I also thought Stranger Than Fiction was horrible.

Another one: American Beauty

Everyone of the Star Wars films...And Blade Runner. I have no idea why I didn't like Blade Runner. I have watched it multiple times but just fall asleep every time I see it.

Star Ship Troopers> Star Wars :)

The Fifth Element> Blade Runner :laugh1:

"Shakespeare in Love" was another headscratcher. Then again, I'm dead inside.

That movie beat "Saving Private Ryan" that year for best picture didn't it?

Friggin' travesty.

I knew from watching the previews that I wasn't going to like it at all so I passed on it. So it was as bad as I thought it was going to be?
