Movies you have been forced to watch because of parents or you work grave yard shift and only thing on :laugh1: etc that you liked. Like me I was born in 1971 so movies that happened in early 70's or later I have watched and liked.

Examples
Inspector General- Danny kay 1949 like it
Father Goose- Cary Grant 1964
Friendly Persuasion- Gary Cooper 1956

Here is some of my Jimmy Stewart List

The Flight of the Phoenix-1956
Man Who Knew To Much- 1956
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance -1962 (also had John Wayne)

John Wayne Movies

Rooster Cogburn-1975
True Grit -1969
McLintok -1963

Ok this is to name a few to give you an example

Note: Juke being old as dirt may list some silent movies just nod you head and pertend you understand

I can't remember the names of the movies, but I luv'd alot of those movies with Doris Day and what's that guy name w/her in Pillow Talk, I believe. He was considered a sex symbol of the time. He died from Aids, I think.

Doris Day and him were in a lot of movies together. I used to watch them on Sat.

Actually, I liked pretty much all the movies with Doris Day.

Philadelphia Story with Katherine Hepburn, Gary Grant & Jimmy Stewart

Key Largo & The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart

And I'm a sap for those old big budget studio musicals.

I love movies so much that I never consider any of them before my time. In my opinion, if it's a great movie, it will remain timeless.

My education in films "before my time" was late night TV with my old man. We would watch a ton of movies with Lee Marvin, John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, David Lean, Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, and everything else he loved in the day. After growing up on that, over time, I went out and rented most of the classics from 1900 and up, and also took some basic film classes in college where watching the classics was required.

It's hard for me to write this because I wasn't around several decades ago and I will never watch what were considered crappy films in those days, but I think many of today's films will definitely get the tag of "before your time" for many of our next generations. Instead of relying on classical music, many of today's movies use pop rock or some other band that is the recent fad. Ridiculous stuff gets made into movies nowadays such as any TV show that ever lasted more than one year, pointless sequels and thousands of teeny bopper horror flicks. I know there have always been bad movies, but I can't help but feel future generations (god willing that we make it) are going to look back on today's "art" and think we were some shallow, braindead folks. LOL

Sergeant York was great

Cary Grant also has a lot of them I enjoyed another one th the Grant list is
Operation Petti Coat (1959)

Mister Roberts (1955) was another great classic
Henry Fonda; James Cagney and Jack Lemmon as the young Ens. Pulver

I think there are some really good movies from the 80's to today I just think Hollywood is lazy now days they go for a quick buck with a crappy sequel because the name draws money. That is why I never ever go to the theater to watch sequels they are usally garbage. To many in Hollywood seem to be lazy and have no imagination; which gives us the TV show to movies and the remake of old movies.

Crapp remakes like Last Man Standing is a remake of Clint Eastwoods a Fist Full of Dollars.

All the Abbott and Costello movies.

The Marx Brothers.

The Wizard of Oz, when I was a kid and before I lived in Kansas.

Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, and Mummy.

The B-movie horror flicks: The Blob, Creature From the Black Lagoon, etc.

The Hammer horror movies with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

The Raven with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff.

I loved the Creature Features on Friday nights, obviously.

Well, technically Star Wars was "before my time" (at least by a few months anyway). I'll claim it as my favorite.

I also really enjoyed The Magnificent Seven which was truly before my time.
