He's okay...better than most of the others like Lynch. Goff's passes have a different quality though, just...more zip. The flight path of his balls just have more of that rope quality about them. I don't think anyone would say that Tom Brady has the strongest arm in the league but watch the flight path of his balls, particularly mid-range passes. No one throws a ball with more zip than he does, they just seem to cut through the air with much more ease than most.

I realize "zip" probably doesn't come across as the most technical of terms, but it is what I look for. Goff has it, Wentz does not.

Look at the zip and accuracy on just a couple of his routine passes that he makes every game.

He has a strong arm but not the dart-like throws that the special QBs can make. It's hard to describe but there is a certain type of ball flight that translates into big time success. The best example I can come up with is Kyle Boller. Remember that guy? So much arm strength, he could throw a ball through the uprights from the 50 yard line while on his knees. But I recall actually watching his throws in a game, and he had the most UN-zippiest passes I've ever seen. So I'm not really talking about pure arm strength, it's just...different. And I'm seeing the same thing on this video you posted, Wentz doesn't have that dart-like zip on his balls. Goff definitely does.

I guess man.

When I think of "dart like zip" I think of Favre, Rodgers, and guys like that.

IMO you see that type of heat on Wentz's throws..

Goff is a nice QB.. Wentz is a young gunslinger much like Romo but with better pure ability.

Goff is more like Sam Bradford or Brady.. Somewhere in between.

In Dallas I wouldn't expect much from Goff because he can't extend plays and Garrett's offense is so terrible that we have to have a guy that can extend plays.

Glad you brought up Rodgers and Favre. Favre had one of the strongest arms in league history, but he did NOT have the zip I speak of. Rodgers? Oh yeah. He and Brady are the kings of the zippy passes. Just the ability to flick the wrist somehow. Just a natural gift, it cannot be taught.

Apparently Philadelphia is frothing at the mouth for Wentz, so if Goff goes first, the Eagles could offer a king's ransom to get to #2. If Dallas feels the same, it has more ammo with a higher pick to trade. The 49ers are in deep mourning after their new-old California counterparts beat them to the punch for Goff. (I think that's the pick because they wanted to one-up the 49ers.) But if they go Wentz, the Niners could go all-in for the #2.

It's going to be real interesting watching the Dallas war room live stream after the #1 pick is made. I think you'll find out what the plan is pretty quickly. Phones could be on fire to move up to 2 or move down for picks.

Dallas absolutely can not let that happen.

They just spent 18 mill on Bradford and gave Chase Daniel a huge chunk of change too. I can't imagine they are also going to give up tons of picks for a QB.
Last year Philthy loaded up on everyone's running backs. This year the new theme is QB's. Grab em all.

Good luck with that Philthy!
