I don't think that should come as a shock to anyone. Everyone in the CZ knew about that offer months ago.

I agree and given the season he has had I think the Dallas offer will increase from the initial 4 mill avg they made at that time.

I doubt if that's all they will offer him, but I hope it's not much more. Unfortunately for him, it was the best offensive line in football that deserves the most credit. The fact that Joseph Randle had as much success as Murray when given the chance doesn't help him either. I say, let him get the most he can get, & draft his replacement in the 3rd/4th round. Any quality RB can have great success behind this line.

I am.

They invested a ton in a RB once. Let them do it again.

Trent is a bust though. Can't believe they wasted a first on him.
Murray is a stud back that has had issues staying healthy.

Murray will just cost them cap space.

Interesting stat but RB with runs of 40+ yard runs Murray was tied for 1st and runs of 20+ yards Murray was tied for 2nd in the NFL. Main thing is Murray ability to get the tough yardage, a lot of so called take to the house RB are not very good in tough yardage situation.

Yeah he's a bust now. Everyone said the Browns were stupid at the time for doing that deal though.

Murray is a stud. But he isn't worth 8,9,10 mill per year.

I appreciate his hard work and sacrifice for the team. However, something keeps nagging at me in the back of my mind. Was this awesome season motivated in part because it was a contract year? If the Cowboys re-sign him, I'll be holding my breath next season. If he is willing to sacrifice for the team in order for them to get to their ultimate goal, wouldn't that include potential earnings?

I agree.

I wouldn't mind seeing a deal up to 6 million, on average, that is backloaded, but anything more than that we should let him walk.

Well he's always been a good back here. His YPC this year ranks 3rd out of the 4 years he was here IIRC.
His main obstacles in the previous years was staying healthy and the offense played from behind a lot.

I think this is old news regurgitated once again for clicks. Same with the news of Marinelli going to Tampa.

I said it months ago and I'll say it again. Let's not insult him with low ball offers. 4 years, $16 million is not his value (title says 16 per, which is clearly a typo) and I am OK with us saying we can't afford Murray, but let's give him realistic offers or none at all.

4/16m is not an insult. It is the new market. No one got more than 3/10.5m last year. Teams already regret the RRice, McCoy, Foster, AP, DWilliams deals. There are plenty of FAs and draft picks available as well. Most teams want to go with committees now.

i dont know. i want Murray back. Forget the fumble against Green Bay. That was one hell of a play by future possible HOF and big time FA acquisition Julius Peppers....It was a great play. and Peppers didn't know what was behind him. Or, the lack of what was behind him!

Murray is a big part of this team. His ability to move chains, run the clock , pick up 2 3 tough yards against tough DL and LBs.....is a big part of the 2014/5 Dallas cowboys.
But. Its a different world and the game has changed in a way where RBs, aren't going to get those contracts anymore.....I think Murray may be the highest profile causality of that new train of thought...

Personally I want him back. but , no way i break bank for a RB, and, also. If he gets a even a million more somewhere else. He HAS to take it. This is his life. His chance. And a MILLION dollars, is a million dollars!!! he has the rest of his life to think about all that. he has to stretch this money out.....

was there a comparable rb to murray available last year? if not, then you don't know the market has changed.

fwiw, id be willing to bet anything sig related or a modest donation to the site that his averege salary per year would be closer to 8 per, then 4 per. id even give you 6 mil even as you winning, but everything 6,000,000.01 is me winning.

I hide people's signatures

I don't need to have my opinion validated so badly that I have to make a bet over what Murray makes next year. But for the record, I'll take the under on the 6m
