He carried the team by himself? I thought it was a team game. The oline didn't have anything to do with it. He's not a fumbler.

I don't understand how he does not get any respect around here?? People are like, see ya. Is it because of the fumbles, or that he doesn't take it to the house every time he touches the ball?

I've heard this nonsense all year!

I mean, Argument is definitely there for anyone being able to run behind this line, and his fumbles have cost us.

i dont see how the cowboys put the ball in murrays hands in decisive momments anymore...that fumble cost us the last game. hes done as a cowboy , i believe.

I wouldn't mind paying him 5m a year, but it would have to be year to year, no guarantees or pro-rations on the salary cap

4/$18m with a big chunk guaranteed would have been my offer. Just can't overpay a running back.

They should try to get him to sign that deal. If he declines, offer him 4yrs/20mill and say that's the best we can do. If he wants more, let him go.

He's not worth fumbles. No back is worth that many lost fumbles. Parcells used to say it all the time.

Also he's been overworked. You pay guys on what you think they will do in the future, not rewarding them for what they've done in the past. Track record for guys after getting that many carries is not good. RB is not the position to overpay for.

I take it you didn't enjoy the multiple 100 yd games in a row did you??

More like I can acknowledge he was a big part of our offense without suggesting he carried the team...

I really, really like Murray as a player, but he's a player that will be a cap casualty. Well to an extent, he's going to get his, just not with Dallas. If there wasn't a cap, we'd without hesitation give him the deal he wants, but in a cap league you have to wisely spend your $$ elsewhere and there's bigger needs currently. I think this shows how we as an organization have come a long way when dealing with contracts, especially over the past 2 years.

Murray's a great player, and it seems like he's a great teammate, so I hope he can find a good team like Ware did.

I'm not in the break the bank camp, but my God do any of you people actually know football?? Wow! He is only 26, and barely has any tread on the tires. Don't you think there is a reason Dunbar and Randle never saw the field?? Because they're not Murray!

Too many teams get burned overpaying guys like Murray. I don't care if he's 26.

You've got to structure the contract for what you expect Murray to be next year and how easy/hard it is to replace that production.

I honestly believe that Murray is not as good a runner as he was in his first 2 years in the league. He doesn't display the same moves or burst that he had as a rookie. He also really wore down during the season proving that he isn't a workhorse back, at least not to the extent of the carries he was getting.

He now is a power back who runs to contact. He has great all-around skills in that he is a capable blocker and competent outlet receiver but we need a dynamic runner if we are going to be as run-heavy as we were this season. We also need to employ a RB by committee approach so the RBs aren't done by game 12 like Murray this year.

I say go draft a guy in the 3rd round as there will probably be a good one available and have him split snaps with Randle and Dunbar who are both good players who were criminally under-utilized this year. I honestly wonder if we don't win in GB if Murray is out and Randle and Dunbar split the duties. They bring an element of speed and explosiveness that would put fear in the defenses that Murray just wasn't doing anymore.

I think the deal actually reflects the player that Murray will now be for the rest of his career. Some will see it as an insult by the FO but we can't be in the business of paying for past performance if we want to remain winners in this hard cap league.

I don't think Murray will accept this deal and I don't think he should as someone will offer him considerably more in FA in a few weeks. I hope he does well as he seems like a good kid.
